I had a slacking colleague on another team that just got fired for performance reasons so things will be thankfully a lot quieter nowso a nikka can get his work done.

I hate small talk and I hate stating the obvious; two things I need to appear competent and successful in my line of work.
I've been accused of being shy, docile, agreeable, lacking competence, leadership, and a bunch of other bullshyt that really doesn't describe me at all. I'm learning to turn it on and off finally at 31.

Yeah, I hate the repetitiveness of it the most. Some people literally say and ask the same stuff every time. Most people are only interested in talking about themselves anyway and at this point I have no interest in hearing about what other people are doing.

I don't mind it. I met a ex girlfriend through small talk and I've been able to make contacts with people that came in handy later on. I only dislike it when it's clear that I'm occupied like reading a book, comic book, or magazine and you try to make small talk.
