Therapy doesn’t “cure” you, but a good therapist will help give you exercises on how to deal with situations. It’s helped me understand the genesis of my behaviors and how to deal with them. And sometimes, you need someone to talk to outside of family and friends that gives another opinion. But like some people say, it’s kind of like finding a good barber, you may have to go through a few until you find one you relate with. Thankfully with the insurance I got, the co-pay is cheap.

Yep, there are just some things a person is not equipped to deal with themselves, as you have stated, that sort of deep understanding is beyond untrained folk

Yes. As someone who got their degree in counseling, I see it as mostly insurance fraud. It’s like putting a bandaid on something. In certain instances it’s all you need but ppl aren’t walking around with lil scrapes, they’re walking around with big wounds.

Everything is a scam. Not to say nobody is genuine in that industry, but everything job/field is corrupted. Thats why I laugh when people hold nikkas like archeologist, professors, scientist, etc… in such high esteem. As if they not above finessing the fukk out of you, and you can bring up many cases when they have. The more prestigious your field/job is, the less people will question you. That type of trust and respect is a scammers paradise. A nikka with a PHD could tell you anything as far as therapy and you supposed to believe it cause he got the credentials. But credentials don’t stop you from being wrong or just flat out dumb as fukk.

Real talk, a therapist that doesn’t have a therapist is a red flag. There’s no way that you can have people unload their deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings and not have that shyt affect you. Those folks are exposed to some pretty fukked up shyt.
