Unless you're a millionaire dropping that much on a wedding doesn't make sense
The sad thing is 20k is not an expensive wedding ........

Nope...i took my wife to the courthouse. No debt, years later bought houses
Fortunate that you and your wife are on the same page.
The big thing when people in my circle were getting married was "destination weddings". That was a complete other level of Kcuf-ery.
Just think about it, why would you want to start your marriage with a extra 30k in debt.
Most marriages end due to financial reasons.

Yes, I think people aren't financially compatible and that's what unravels the marriage. They have different habits and priorities. That's why I was pointing out how you're fortunate. If you wanted to marry a woman who had her heart set on a fairy tale wedding....it would have been tough. Most reasonable women would meet her groom halfway on her "dream wedding". You have a wife who said F the big spectacle...let's put that towards our future life.Just think about it, why would you want to start your marriage with a extra 30k in debt.

this logic is terrible house prices and interest rates change all the time, and usually house prices go up so the longer you wait the more expensive it'll be especially if you live in a city. You can always buy a house you can't just redo a wedding 5 years into your marriage.

imo nothing wrong with it. You have one wedding plus you can always make that money back. Not every life decision has to be financially motivated, happiness matters too.

Frankie Lymon told these dumb nikkas 50 years ago but they ain't listenmy homie just had a 30k wedding yet he lives in the hood in a triple decker on the 3rd floor and his wife doesn't even work
Get married brehs
who's going to pay from their own pocket for a wedding, that stupid and hustling backward
Nothing will stop people from making bad financial decisions when it comes to stunting.![]()
The parents (or whole family) of the bride usually pay for the wedding from what I know.

I think he's referring about charging people to attend the wedding most of them are about 150$ nowadays so its possible to make part of the investment back + all the gifts
I don't know what World you live in...
But MONEY MATTERS ALL THE TIME...
And if you are dependent on a check as an hourly worker there is NO GUARANTEE that you will be able to Make that money back in the future
