you have a point..What is their to show when I've lived it? Self-taught people are entrepreneurial by nature.
Linear algebra will never be relevant in my career. I'll bet money on it.

What actually happens is you end up sucking at lots of different things and mastering nothing.
the person who has the degree has some standard of proof of what their skills and exposure is. The person without the degree is just a gamble.

when I got into IT then I truly understood the terminology "knowledge = power".I know a couple of cats that's been developing for over 20 years and whatever company the contract for, they act like rock stars...................Make their own hours and demand ridiculous wages....all because they are extremely good at what they do......
