Phil is a basketball savant, breh.

11 time champ as a coach.

2 time champ as a player...for the Knicks.

Drafted a franchise player level talent and a rookie pg who already plays elite defense.

Kept our picks.

But yet so called "fans" wanna act like they know better. Oh fukking please.

Yes and no because he was right about Melo and Phil couldn't really do his job with him there but at the same time he gave him a NTC.

He tried to correct a mistake but he didn't have the power to do it.

This right here is the most honest assessment you can make...I'd add the Noah signing but whatever.

The way fans and the media were painting him as a cancer was disgusting.

It's not this OR that. He deserves some credit, yes, because KP and Frank were drafted under his watch. He deserves criticism for giving Melo an NTC, hell even for resigning him before engaging in a year-long media weird war. Signing Noah to that terrible contract, etc. And when it's all said and done, now that he and Melo are out of town, the whole team looks rejuvenated, confident, energetic.

All in all, he did some good, and did some bad, now we're moving on.

There are a few things missing from your list. The biggest mistake was definitely Melo, but there was a real bad stretch there that I highlighted breh.

Classic Niccas
phil was in his own way with that played out triangle offense.

if he would've just let his coaches coach, he would still be there.

P.S. theyre still not making the playoffs this year.

Phil Barely Watched Knicks Games You Think He Was Really Watching Unknowns In Latvia?

We’re An NBA Team With International Scouts

How the Knicks front office talked themselves into Porzingis

Clarence Gaines, Phil Jackson’s top adviser, was so enamored with Kristaps Porzingis, he thought the Knicks should take the 19-year-old if they won the lottery.

Gaines, a Bulls scout during Jackson’s tenure and his only new front-office hire with the Knicks, is considered Jackson’s most trusted personnel guy. Gaines made a scouting trip to Spain last winter to watch the 7-foot-3 Latvian.

Clarence had gone over and seen him and he sent Phil a text and said if he had the first pick of the draft, this is the kid he would take,’’ Knicks general manager Steve Mills said during Monday night’s summer-league telecast from Vegas on MSG Network.

Despite Gaines’ enthusiasim, Karl-Anthony Towns or Jahlil Okafor would’ve been the pick had they landed the No. 1 pick, Mills indicated
Mills also made a trip to Spain to watch Porzingis in the ACB league, and that’s when 21-year-old center Guillermo Hernangomez, whom the Knicks selected in the second round, caught his eye. The Knicks made a deal with the Sixers to take Hernangomez with the 35th pick, and the Knicks plan to have him on the team in 2016-17. Jackson never traveled to Spain to see Porzingis or Hernangomez.

Mills And Gaines Traveled To Watch KP Play, Phil Never Went Anywhere

So he hired and brought over the guy that found you all your pieces and you think he doesn't deserve credit for that? :mjlol:

Every team has scouts and good GMs listen to their scouts. Jackson brought over a guy from his bulls tenure to be that guy and clearly he made a right choice as to who that guy was.

So You’re Argeeing With My Point But Acting Like I’m Saying Something Different

In theory you're right but in practice not so much. Surely you've seen games where individuals get credit for team success that had nothing directly to do with them but since they're the leader of the team they receive the accolades & criticism

Your post throughout this topic have been to prove a point that Phil doesn't deserve credit. You come across as an idealist. My point of response was to say those of us more into the reality of life understands the guy deserves credit. Sympull

Every Team In The NBA Scouts Overseas, Mills Loved KP Too, The Majority Of The Higher Ups Had To Like The Pick, I’m Not Saying Phil Shouldnt Get Any Credit But His Credit Is Being Overstated Cause He’s Not With The Team Anymore

His Biggest Credit Should Be Forcing Melo Out, Which Everyone On This Board Was Cursing Him Out For lol
