Christians or Muslims will tell you so. As someone who was a Christian and is now agnostic, it doesn't work. This world is based on chance and actions. Either you are given the opportunity or you're not. Either someone else is going to get healthy or off drugs or they're not. Sometimes I think prayer hinders people from moving forward because they are too stuck in waiting for a "blessing" that may never come.
If there is something you want, you have to just work for it and let nature take it's course.

I got into a car accident the monday after my birthday. It was totaled. But I got out walking injury free & not a single scratch on me. Someone was praying for me.
if you know and understand about channeling energy..then praying to or for something will become easier and great to practise!
