I think the people discrediting religion and praying tend to look towards outward examples for "proof" that God does or doesn't exist.
I believe that religion is about building your PERSONAL relationship with God. I've prayed on many many things and each time have found that God had things in store that were even better than what I was originally praying on. Praying doesn't grant wishes, it helps reveal purpose and strengthen your spiritual connection to a Higher Power.

Beliefs in religion doesn't negate intellect or rationally thinking either. That is a completely false stereotype. I can continue to grow and strengthen my beliefs in Christianity while continuing to broaden my perspectives and education. The two work together more than they conflict.

Why should I have to claim God doesn't exist? You're the one making the claim that he does. I'm asking you to simply show me that he does. Why do you try to fade that?

This is like asking someone to "prove" you have a "conscience" or the voice in your head while thinking to yourself.

It can't be seen, touched or experienced beyond your personal interactions/feelings. Can't be measured or photographed. But YOU KNOW it's real.

Your conscience validates it's existence through your actions.

God validates his existence through HIS and people hearing from/feeling Him.

Of course prayer works. What kind of God wouldn't be willing to change his plan (and thus the world around you) just because YOU asked him to? :heh:

Just keep in mind that whoever tithes the hardest wins. So if you're praying for something and tithing the standard 10%, but down the hall one of those 20% tithers is praying for the same thing, he/she is gonna get it instead of you.

In Jesus' name, amen.

:mjlol: Religion.... :deadrose:

Yes, it does. I've seen too many things/situations/people manifest in my life to believe that it doesn't. Everything you need is always there - whether you recognize it or not.

I'm sure praying is really helping out that starving kid out there across the ocean who's praying to God as we speak to not suffer anymore.

Or your local homeless man.

So God is merely this sort of neural therapist you can call out on anytime you please to help clarify your personal problems or your concerns with existentialism...

3. God didn't go and decree the deaths of thousands of Haitians. God created storms, wind, oceans, earthquakes, wildfires, floods. Tons of different manifestations of weather. Do you care about all the Asians killed in the tsunamis? The homes of the animals killed by fires and floods? Or would you like to continue to project your limited ideas of who should live and who should die onto God and then reject Him when He's not redirecting the whole course of the universe by your uniformed biased and likely ever-changing opinions? :stopitslime: the only one with some "nerve" in that scenario. ....is you breh.
:laff:

you religious nuts are something else. this dude god is either in charge, or he isnt :childplease:

if hes out here killing haitians with storms, then hes a sick fukk. and if he cant or wont prevent it, then why bother with prayer?

Nah.

It's a good anesthesia though. :yeshrug:

But a little too reminiscent of drug addiction. Get the high, come down, only to need to get high again to deal with things affecting you in the real world that still hasn't changed. The power is in you, not some imaginary deity that seems too busy to give a damn about millions and billions of people who've called on him only to get no call back throughout the ages. Funniest part is the biggest perpetrators/aggressors are those rocking Abrahamic religions today. Everywhere they go they spread death, destruction, depravity and desolation follows...But hey, guess I'm the only one noticing that trend.

God...the original deadbeat dad. :lolbron: Come get your kids G, they're killing people out there swearing they're superior to everyone else while doing it in your name. :mjlol:

He's most certainly in charge :childplease: If you have issues with your limited understanding of God's nature and purposes, or His methods that's cool. Doesn't make him any less God becuase you're personally displeased.
