Reading between the lines it sounds like the filthy rich privileged elite/government are fleecing the working class/poor while pushing racist/nationalist propaganda to scape goat and keep them at each others throats to distract them from said fleecing. :jbhmm:

:whew:Whew, glad i live in the great ol U.S. of A where the leaders are above such chicanery! :blessed:

One of the dumbest beefs ever and stems purely from racism. Lots of things they can do that doesn’t involve beef to help each other. Joint highways and infrastructure planning. They can have better trade deals with each other.

So you’ve shifted the subject of who you think the first Dominicans. First you mentioned African slaves. Now it’s criollos. You’re shifting the subject.

Make up your mind…

You can’t erase that the Haitian arose first on Hispaniola.

I didn’t shift anything.

It’s not who I think were the first Dominicans. It’s verified history that the people who became Dominicans inhabited the island before the people that became Haitians. I mean no one is upset that Haiti the country was founded before the Dominican Republic. :pachaha: . That’s fact. But that’s not what we’re talking about. I mean it’s bizarre to witness the distortion.

1. What is an "ethnic Dominican"? The DR is a multi-racial/multi-ethnic society.

2. Untrue, the concept of a Haitian nation (along with Haitian citizenship) was first conceived in 1805. The people who lived in the DR didn't transition from being Spanish subjects to being DR citizens until 1844.

3. The rest of what you've written about how DR won its independence from Haiti in the mid 19th century, salsa and J Balvin isn't that relevant. I could talk about dance music from Haiti in the 1700s (called Kontradans), but again - it's not relevant.
1.DR is multi racial but not "multi ethnic", there aren't different cultures or different ethnicities within the DR population. And regionalism doesn't count, nor does baseball team rivalries.

2.Cultural and ethnic identity isn't the synonym of citizenship or state. The jewish people were stateless for centuries and they were still considered a nation and ethnicity and had a strong cultural identity. Also that doesn't disprove what i said about dominicans existing way before haitians.

3. That was just an offtopic comment and wasn't intended to be relevant to the current conversation.

You're sadly engaging in gaslighting.

You claimed the first Dominicans were African slaves who arrived on that side of Hispaniola. I pointed out that they were Africans from various nations (Wolof, Kongolese etc.).

Then, realizing your error, you began saying criollos in DR were calling themselves Dominicans hundreds of years ago. That's a huge shift from an African slave to criollo. It made you look like you were grasping at the straws...

1. So, you're claiming that there's no Chinese or Lebanese in DR? Those two examples are ethnic identities in the country.

2. You've yet to provide material evidence of there being a Dominican sense of nationhood that pre-dates Haiti's independence. It would help the thread a lot if you had those documents to show...

Haiti has never been as destabilized in my lifetime, as it is now. Even the oldest people in our families have never seen it this bad.

Backlash from the people who share the island was inevitable, as our problems spill over and become their problems.
It's the cacs fukking shyt up from afar.

TYRONE GA!
The Dominican elites and the Dominican agriculture sector benefits from the current immigration situation

Easy source of cheap labor and an open market to export their bullshyt products directly next door.

Tell the Dominicans to build the wall and cut all diplomatic relations.... but they WON'T do that because theyre full of shyt.

sounds awfully familiar :patrice:

I’m not gaslighting. I didn’t make a mistake. I said what I said. There were no errors. This discussion is futile. The very reason haiti is a dumpster fire is the source of this conversation. Y’all have no a clue who you are. Even the 1805 constitution highlights the confusion of what it means to be Haitian.

Once y’all figure that out y’all will stop fighting and turning your country into a wasteland. From Chile, DR, Brazil, Bahamas, Mexico it’s the same story

That was the theme. It wasn’t really xenophobic. It was more so “they aren’t our problem”. “The haitian solution is in Haiti” which is correct. The solution to Haitian stability is in Haiti :yeshrug:. Developing nations cannot handle massive influx of citizens
Haiti solution is NOT in Haiti. Their issue is the white supremacists

Corruption is what keeps most African and caribbean countries down. It's upsetting when you see countries like Sweden, Korea or Japan having the highest development human index, with the best gross production, innovating every time in tech, super developed cities...and then you see fukking congo or haiti at the bottom of the barrel with the goofiest problems of the millennia. When you know that these countries would easily be at the top of the chain food if they stopped acting like dumbass.

NO MORE corruption, discipline, self-respect, investing 95% of the public revenue on army, health and education, like damn are we cursed or what? All East Asian countries did that shyt, and went at the top in 2, 3 decades, why we can't?? How is that mission impossible??
The problem is the United Kingdom, United States, France needs Nigeria and Haiti to be the world's biggest shytholes. They are fukking it up. Haiti could be the best island by a mile of all Caribbean islands but they fought cacs. Same for Biafrans. Only bytch nikkas living decently in 2022.

its all economic class war. DR has been backed by the US throughout its history. If a country like Haiti has the resources to elevate its infrastructure, then it’s going to get destabilized by the hegemony unless they accede to being a puppet state.
