He got Cube,Face,Rakim, krs in there who you wouldn't typically be placed on some whole other level past Biggie,id say its about even...they definitly had content over Biggie and were actually saying something so maybe he took that into consideration...but then id wonder why Pac don't make it....interesting list though, rarely do I see list that line up exactly with what the person says its based off of....this one gives the idea technical lyricism and content are the two most important things. I would guess he thinks Nas is the goat?

No problems with that list... You can make a valid argument about any of the MC's listed as GOAT material.

canibus had a great run to get signed on posse cuts.
the best runs for posse cut features, for an unknown ever.
yet, it was for only one year.
that ended with one of the worst deliveries and lack on convincability on the mic, ever.
plus, he never ramped up his technical skills to be able to spit over different sonic landscapes.
which occurred on his next wack album,..one of the wackest ever.
that continued to the slippery slope to one of the wackest of all time.
with no cred, at all whatsoever.

We are talking "lyricist" here...Canibus' penmanship actually improved over the years...Here is why...

At the first Canibus was just using big words and scientific concepts to pretty much say "I am a better MC than you"...Something that Rakim pretty much did throughout his prime, and yet Rakim's one-dimensional approach is never scrutinized...

But then Canibus started to use big words and scientific knowledge to explain his struggle for acceptance by the hip hop community, and society in general...

Dude added multiple layers to craft...And people always use the same old rationale to discredit the amount of work Canibus put out...

I see it in the same way that hip hop laughs at Papoose...Basically, Papoose can spit the exact same bar as Kendrick, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay Z and etc, but it would perceived as a "struggle bar," but for any other rapper not Papoose it would either be "WOW" or at worst, "you can expect him to be lyrical on every song" (read the comments Jay Z fans are making in that "give me what you got" thread)...

The bias in hip hop makes it damn near impossible to take any top 10 list seriously if it's not based on record sales, and respect from other rappers...

I will NEVER be an Eminem fan, but I have stated in numerous threads that he is ultimately the GOAT, because (1) He has sold more records than his peers...(2) His peers highly respect his craft and skill...

I think that rationale has way more credibility than saying "Eminem is a great lyricist, so I put him on my top 10, but Biggie and Pac are just good rappers" and on the same list you have KRS 1, Ice Cube and Face, who are pretty much in the same class/category of rappers as 2Pac and Biggie...

It makes no sense...

Any rap list based on "lyricism" is null and void, in my opinion, if Canibus is not included...

Meh..his list is ok. I would have took out Em, Jay, and Kool G Rap, and put Pac, BIG, and AZ.

i know this pissed off alot of dudes on here:pachaha:

rakim said the same exact shiit too, and i can't really say i disagree w/ them. since em's emergence, there really hasn't been anyone better. the top 10 without big isn't such a big deal to me. it's understandable in a certain sense. you don't see me go around putting smooth da hustler in a top 10 list, but at the same time, he's one of the nicest dudes to have ever grabbed a mic. i haven't watched the interview yet, so i'm not sure what the whole list pertains to. about to watch it now.

I remember the fukkery years ago when some Black female DJ said she cannot rate Biggie over Eminem on the list of greatest rappers....

I forgot who her name was but i remember the crazy ass reaction

and its funny because that is some rare shyt to hear from a Black woman about Eminem :pachaha:

there is no way you can say that.

in 95, when pac has matw...
there was a funk flex mixtape that featured pun.
which pretty much, and still is lightyears ahead of anything pac was about.
not to mention,..it was so far next level....
it was the same reaction, nas got for halftime, and big L, got for devil's son.
plus, the classic posse cut features of busta with tribe.

on top of the fact,..pun got better and better, and outclassed everyone, everytime.
on a level that is only matched in holy shyt moments all time, for that radio show freestyle/format media by:

busta : in the instance before everything remains raw drops
big l
juice
common
redman
krs
finesse

pun was better than big, when he first showed up.
real talk,..
pun was better than damn near the whole industry when he first appeared.

when that funk flex tape dropped,....pun was so next level.

nuffin could fukk with his appearance on that whole tape, the entire year, damn near.

you had to find the old stretch and bob freestyle on air vinyl...
to find moments as good or equal, for that year.
when the stretch and bob freestyle vinyl of on air performances was from a collective of years and appearance/performances.
