canibus had a great run to get signed on posse cuts.
the best runs for posse cut features, for an unknown ever.
yet, it was for only one year.
that ended with one of the worst deliveries and lack on convincability on the mic, ever.
plus, he never ramped up his technical skills to be able to spit over different sonic landscapes.
which occurred on his next wack album,..one of the wackest ever.
that continued to the slippery slope to one of the wackest of all time.
with no cred, at all whatsoever.

We are talking "lyricist" here...Canibus' penmanship actually improved over the years...Here is why...
At the first Canibus was just using big words and scientific concepts to pretty much say "I am a better MC than you"...Something that Rakim pretty much did throughout his prime, and yet Rakim's one-dimensional approach is never scrutinized...
But then Canibus started to use big words and scientific knowledge to explain his struggle for acceptance by the hip hop community, and society in general...
Dude added multiple layers to craft...And people always use the same old rationale to discredit the amount of work Canibus put out...
I see it in the same way that hip hop laughs at Papoose...Basically, Papoose can spit the exact same bar as Kendrick, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Jay Z and etc, but it would perceived as a "struggle bar," but for any other rapper not Papoose it would either be "WOW" or at worst, "you can expect him to be lyrical on every song" (read the comments Jay Z fans are making in that "give me what you got" thread)...
The bias in hip hop makes it damn near impossible to take any top 10 list seriously if it's not based on record sales, and respect from other rappers...
I will NEVER be an Eminem fan, but I have stated in numerous threads that he is ultimately the GOAT, because (1) He has sold more records than his peers...(2) His peers highly respect his craft and skill...
I think that rationale has way more credibility than saying "Eminem is a great lyricist, so I put him on my top 10, but Biggie and Pac are just good rappers" and on the same list you have KRS 1, Ice Cube and Face, who are pretty much in the same class/category of rappers as 2Pac and Biggie...
It makes no sense...
Any rap list based on "lyricism" is null and void, in my opinion, if Canibus is not included...
