But I can see how its not bonafide classic because it wouldnt hit hard to everyone

I love canibus and he's one of my most listened artists, but I can see where someone wouldnt call Fait Accompli a classic

I dont think Jadakiss has a classic, but I wouldnt be mad if someone that liked him said it was to them.

You can even argue that The Eminem Show is a classic, even though I wasnt feeling it.... I could see where someone would think it was
I personally think Yeezus is a classic and I hate MDBTF and Late Registration... I guess being bonafide classic like doggystyle means appealing to everyone

I wouldn't be mad if someone thought Jadakiss had an album that they realy loved and it was a personal classic to them. And objectively the dude is one of my favorite rappers of all time, but he arguably doesn't even have a 4-mic album. I mean if anyone said to me that Kiss the Game Goodbye is a personal classic to hem...I would ask them what they even meant by that.
I imagine they'd say because there are classic songs on it like We Gonna Make It, None of Ya'll Better, Show Discipline, Feel Me, Hands Up, and Knock Yourself Out, and maybe a couple others, right?

Okay, fine. Me too. But I really think you'd have to search high and low to find someone that doesn't skip at least 4 or 5 joints on that album.

So if "personal classic" just means that you like like half the songs on there a lot, then okay I guess. But why not just say that instead of tossing around the word classic and diluting the meaning.

Now days I feel like it's become fine for anyone to say something is a personal classic as long as it was decent and is more than 10 years old. I'm cool with throwing out the term personal classic if something is arguably a 4-mic album and has aged somewhat well. Like if someone said Cormega's first album was a personal classic, or if HNIC by Prodigy was a personal classic, I'd be on board. I don't know if I'm there with Kiss the Game Goodbye though.

I'm not trying to sound as grumpy as I'm sure it looks like I am. I'm just trying to throw out some thoughts.

I 100% agree so technically id say "When disaster Strikes" aint really a classic... because there's a few songs hard to make it through on it.
Here's a good question and debate... would MF Doom have a classic album? or does this make him just a cult figure? because I cant picture
most people in the world listening to madvillian and thinking how crazy it is. I think we agree on whats really a classic...another one would be
rhythm-al-ism by DJ quik... its one of my favorite albums of all time. But I'd say its only 85-90% classic, towards the end he throws on vibey, filler songs.
I think it sort of sucks because both in his and Busta's case, they could have replaced songs easily for a better disc.. but technically speaking
some tracks are skippable.
