How is it an excuse according to me?

Dre specifically said he wouldn't be comfortable working with Mike and telling him to go back into the booth to redo lines. Where does Hip Hop play into this? Vocal arrangements are not necessary in Hip Hop, and you telling Michael Jackson to go back and re-record words, lines, and what not isn't going to fly the same way as telling Jay Z to re-record a word, line, etc. Why? Because it's not the same approach. Michael Jackson is a singer. Jay is a rapper. And the only reason I brought it up in the first place is because you wanted to make a point out of Babyface and R. Kelly producing MJ. They produce R&B, which includes arranging vocals. That's the world they come from. Dre doesn't.

And since we are questioning whether it's Oochie Wally or One Mic, take your own advice and answer my question.
Honestly I don't think Dre would ask MJ to redo a lot of lines specifically because he was MJ. Everyone who worked with MJ said he was a dedicated, perfect studio artist. Doesn't mean he never had to redo shyt but he commanded his voice so well he rarely fukked up ( and if he did, he knew it). Whereas with rap you're largely dealing with dudes less used to consistent vocal performance expectations from producers/beat makers, not to mention other issues (drinking, smoking, distractions) that wouldn't be the case with MJ.

Of course that was hypothetically speaking based on Dre mentioning how was he going to tell Michael Jackson to redo a line. And that's the other aspect of what a hypothetical collabo between Dre and Michael would've went down. Both are perfectionists. There's Michael Jackson songs in the vault that sound amazing, but he didn't think they were good enough to release. Would Dre and Michael even completed a full song? And if they did, would we have heard it or would have just gone in the vault.

Y'all desperately want the generations who came before hip-hop to show any kind of enthusiasm towards the culture to the point where DR Period could come out and say Ray Charles asked to get on the "Ante Up" remix and you'd be in the thread like "that sounds plausible people don't know Ray was low-key a fan :ehh:".

This was the perfect set up for all the Dre haters to come out the wood work. :mjlol:

look man, lets say hypothetically he didn't "Produce" the majority of the songs yall love. HE STILL MADE SUPER STARS OUT OF AT LEAST 5 ARTIST in each DECADE! wtf have yall done??! :russ:

and also where are these so called "Ghost producers" at now? what's their legacy after working with Dre like MEL MAN??! :jbhmm:

gtfoh with this bs, Dre can have all kinds of musicians in a room doing all kinds of sh*t but at the end of the day, HES THE ONE ORCHESTRATING the vision to LIFE! Plus the fact that he's a hell of an engineer. Without Dre, you don't have sh*t! :pacspit:

f*ckin goofies thinking Dre don't do sh*t on some "if i was in a lab with so and so artist" armchair a*S "producers" :mjlol:

this is pretty much it. Mike and Prince would not go for him having them record 3 words for 2 days straight. They would have told him to go fuk himself and his ego trip. That shyt isn't necessary
Mike was every bit of the perfectionist Dre was though.

nah fakkit, a lot of yall getting exposed and have NO IDEA what a producer is :russ:

just say "I hated Dre all my life" and leave it as is

Foh with this bullshyt. I don’t care if Dre brought other guys in the studio. Dre is a producer right? nikka had a whole orchestra for Marsha but scared to work with MJ. Nobody hates him but he is what the fukk he is not some god like y’all make it. Bet Puff wouldn’t have turned it down and he don’t know how to use a single piece of equipment as D Dot said. He is not the “producer” y’all claim and this proves it. He is hype with a machine behind him. What he did was great but you want to give him credit for shyt he was afraid to do. How that sound? But Michel’le, Suge, Pac, and everyone else lying about his work ethic and shyt? Quik would’ve done some dope shyt but he don’t have the name so they may not have asked him but that’s more his wheelhouse. It’s ok that Dre turned it down but he don’t get credit just because they asked him that’s bullshyt.
