Word is they have a track or two in the vault, they were actually cool behind the scenes

He was definitely a hip hop fan & really liked Public Enemy & KRS-One. He even rapped himself lol
Cap, MJ is believable, Prince never fukked with Rap enough to reach out to Someone like Dr Dre in that way

I could post more, since ignorant, idiot posters on The Booth actually think bringing in session musicians and having co-producers somehow exposes a producer's lack of talent.
His rapping was corny asf. Remember he tried to make Tony M a thing?Yes he did, and def had rap incorporated in some capacity in some of his projects

He only did it to keep from becoming inexorable it seems. When he started messing with it, hip hop was well into its gangsta rap phase while he was pushing this new jack swing/ mc hammer soundI didn't say it was great/just that he incorporated it

Using session players don't make you a phony. Taking completed beats and putting your name on them does. And not even putting people collaborating on the beats in the credits is definitely some fake shyt. Two of the band members from Toto wrote Human Nature. Quincy took their demo, had the instruments replayed and THEY GOT CREDIT. Quincy produced it. In the credits, he didn't claim he wrote and created the whole thing. Thanks for posting this. If they are calling Dre a phony because he uses session players and co-producers, then that would make Quincy and Prince and Mike phony producers as well.
Session players and co-producers are actually the norm in other genres of music. Hip-Hop is unique in that one producer handles all the production duties. If you make use of live instrumentation like Dre, OutKast and Organized Noise, you will be utilizing session players.

All these “Dre is just too much of a perfectionist” talk is bullshyt. MJ was probably the biggest perfectionist in music history. It was literally beat into him as a child to produce perfection
Dre just didn’t wanna get found out. If they ended up in the studio and Dre was by himself he would’ve had a pack of beats ready if MJ couldn’t catch a vibe he’d be like
MJ: pull out your music equipment and let’s try to create something from scratch I can’t vibe with any of the beats you’ve played so far
Dre: ................![]()
They actually wrote the music tho. Dre can’t write or read musicMike and Quincy used more session players and co-producers than Dre ever did.![]()

I've already told you I wasn't there. I have no bone to pick with Dre. i don't know him and I've never met him, but these are quotes from people that were there. We must question everything we read and hear, but at the same time, we must not ignore things that go against people we are fans of. I guarantee you that I've bought more dre albums, cds, and tapes than you dating back to the 80s, so I have no agenda. I just supplied you with a direct quote from a former Interscope employee. It's happens in the industry. Didn't start with dre and won't end with him.claims of Dre not giving people credit is just unproven speculation and accusations.
1. If Dre is a beat theif, why do all his session players co-producers get credit. From Yella to Hitman, to Scott? They all got their credits.
2. Given the value of Dre’s catalog, why haven’t the dudes making the accusations taken Dre to Court? Dre’s catalog is going to be worth nine figures.
The lengths that some on this board go to discredit the man is sad.
