Hip Hop has always been a competitive sport and being the nicest MC is what most attempt to be.

Selling the most records but having your career disregarded by the core hip hop fanbase is a tainted victory at best if you call yourself an MC.

Considering that he's more of a hybrid singer/rapper anyways, I'm not sure if he cares. He may only care about the dollars. But the judges of the sport have put an asterisk on his career and bars.

take care is a modern classic. fukk all the writing shyt. the album is amazing and drake's best work. you can skip the nicki/drake song, though drake snapped and minaj wasn't that bad. but that kinda fukks ups the vibe a lil bit, along with the motto. replace those with dreams money can buy or club paradise and you have a classic.
