Andre wasn't widespread discussed as a GOAT until after Idlewild when he started rapping again. When "Mighty O" dropped and artists were reaching out for guest spots, that's when it was widespread discussed.

Lauryn nor Andre 3000 live in a "safe space". They are artists who got into music because they love music not because they wanted people to look at them as the illest. They are artists who want to make music on their terms no different than D'Angelo, Sade, or Maxwell.
