I think Dre came to his senses too in France

because he eventually saw kast could not do a interview.. without a hey ya performance

Regis Leno .. letterman etc those shows got their ratings off hey ya

It was one of the awards shows where Dre performed prototype instead of hey ya

he was forced back out n he literally said for the thousandth time 1..2..3..4

he was done after that performance

idlewild came .. he let big do all the performance with Morris brown

the same ppl who was usin em for ratings fell back
Naw they did a medley. Him and big both did multiple songs, they ain't make him back come out.

Big was performing on them shows too.

Saw them perform in 2014 perform live, and I think at the time that was the first time I've seen rappers perform with no background track at all. shyt was live music only. Still the best rap show I've ever seen by far.

I've seen a shyt load of rappers live, from Nas, Jay, X, etc, and Outkast is on a different level than them when it comes to live performances.

Big already said the only time he was mad at Dre was him refusing to tour after Speakerboxx/Love Below blew up. Big said that fukked up ALOT of money for him.

Also they were supposed to break up after Stankonia so the writing was already on the wall. LA Reid spoke on it in his book. They came to his office jointly and said they weren’t a group anymore. Big started working on his record and was ready to put it out and two weeks beforehand Dre called him and told him he was going to package his own solo album with Big’s.

From all accounts Dre’s heart wasn’t in it anymore.

That man is and always been very comfortable in his own skin. He's rich and legendary. No need to drop an album ppl gon shyt on anyway.
People wont shyt on it. He might not do it because people will actually just hype it based off of who he is even if its mid. Same way the Booth did Kings Disease. If Jadakiss made that album it wouldn't have gotten instant classic hype. Hiphop has turned into a dikkriding contest. Maybe Dre doesn't want fake love and dikkriding from The Booth types.

Son this is bullshyt. The public fukked with King’s Disease shyt is getting universally praised everywhere. And it ain’t cause it’s Nas cause that shyt ain’t happen for him in a MINUTE. shyt I think LT2 was just as dope and it got shytted on. Dre ain’t make 10 solo hip hop songs his whole career. No fukkin comparison. Nas is on his 14th album.

the internet
people like Dre annoy the fukk out of me.

because they like to come off as some intellectual...and seem to think of themselves as being very smart.
Problem is...they believe every nonsense thought that enters their mind.

The panic attacks come from wanting to protect your huge ego...the grandiose image you have of yourself in your head.

Know why small kids dont have panic attacks?
because they have no sense of self...they are in the moment.

Dre is scared to lose that hip hop God image he has.

This man gets it. And I like Dre he seem like a cool cat. But he fell for his own hype and got shook that he can’t live up to it.

That makes no sense seeing as Nasir and Lost Tapes 2 got shytted on for other reason than critics and the public have this expectation for Nas to be rapping over dusty 90’s production that helps them relive their backpack days bumping Illmatic.

King’s Disease is Nas’s most praised album since 2012.

He simply doesn't care about being a "Hip Hop god". Anyone who has listened to "Rosa Parks" and listened to interviews from around the time Aquemini dropped knows where his mind is at. He said 22 years ago, he didn't want to be doing it beyond 30. When you look at Kast and the mega success they had, they accomplished all this before they reached age 30.

Andre 3000 wasn't out here campaigning to be some Top 5, GOAT level MC. He wasn't out here trying to be that. He was elevated to that status by Hip Hop fans despite him not having a solo album. He didn't want or even ask for that.

That was white media and then rappers and then the internet and then it trickled out to the world. That nikka started getting those accolades when he basically stopped rapping. Not during.

That wasn't white media. Andre 3000 got a lyricist of the year nomination from The Source in 1999. That same year Blaze had him ranked as one of the 50 best MC's ever.

When Eminem name dropped his list of Top MC's, Andre 3000 was still rapping.

Eminem is a rapper. And plenty people got lyricist of the year. Don’t mean they the GOAT. THAT talk ain’t happen widespread until after he stopped rapping.

It's always sad seeing this type of stuff come out over the years. Glad they have been able to link up and do free or small shows in Atlanta with Goodie Mob and killer mike over the years though.
