Speaking of serving @Napoleon talks a big game about American pride and all that horseshyt..... wonder why he doesn't serve?
Why should I?

I acknowledge that the US has provided me DIRECT benefits as a result of living here, thus making it possible for its citizens to do bigger and better things knowing that most other concerns are taken care of internationally.

Some nations can't even build roads successfully...good luck with them trying to strong arm anyone else on ANY matter.

Only plus is it keeps the pilots physically safe, at the expense of their consciences and collective sanity. Seems like a wash to me and isn't demonizing technology at all. Technology has other uses besides killing people.
Another immature argument.

Bombs exist, and are used.

The method of delivery is the only question here.

Where does it stop for you? Its all compromise.

Laser guide bombs? Ejection seats? RADAR? GPS? ...DRONES?

You deem anything that doesn't jive with your worldview as such.
So make an argument worth replying to
Why should the pilots bear all the responsibility for their own mental health? :dahell: US govt is obligated to help them in that regard just like with PTSD and other war related emotional issues.
I never said the govt isn't responsible for the welfare of its pilots, but I don't see how this elevates the responsibility of drones

So...what are you against? Hi-res cameras on drones that pilots have to view? :heh:

to give a blanketed understanding of what i'm against;

I am against agencies of any country or any government utilizing technology to spy upon the masses with the intentions of removing privacy for the purpose of "just in case". now if they can accurately and without doubt prove that the individuals being observed or monitored pose legitimate threat to my safety or others then have at it. but no, hi-res cameras on drones isn't an issue. hi-res cameras on drones is as dangerous as hi-res cameras on smart watches.

The masses being who? Domestic? OK. I think there should be limits.

International? No. I hope the CIA knows everything about any remotely suspicious act and makes moves that elevate the leverage the USA has in all regards.

Don't like it? Then ask China, Russia, India, Brazil, and countless other nations what they're doing while you're asleep.

I can see why some drone pilots would want to quit. That article pretty much summed it up.
Most of the drones are flying reconnaissance missions. How boring would it get to spend hours and hours every day, every week, every month, just controlling a remote controlled aircraft through the skies for surveillance. Waiting to catch some suspicious activity that may or may not happen while the drone is in the area. In the beginning it would be kind of fun/entertaining. Then, it would get old.

We provide security around the world for nations who can't even fathom investing in their own ability to provide for their own defense. And we therefore get things in return from them

The topic of geopolitics has nothing to do with the selective interpretation of controversial opinions.

Reading comprehension is very important my friend, so I'll ask you to reread my post you quoted to under my usage of "the masses" is directly related to me saying "I am against agencies of any country or any government"

and your ask other nations portions of the quoted posting makes absolutely no sense to what I said but ok.

Well...I'm not. :manny:

So, I'll just chalk up your naivety and inability to process the complexity of the world as just cupping your ears and screaming "I can't hear you"

“A typical person doing this mission over the last seven or eight years has worked either six or seven days a week, twelve hours a day,” General Welsh told NPR recently. “And that one- or two-day break at the end of it is really not enough time to take care of that family and the rest of your life.”

This section of the article needs to be removed. It adds nothing of value. This lifestyle is no different than a traveling consultant.

Thats what I'm saying. The article isn't even saying shyt.

I mean, damn killing people is hard enough, but controlling a robot then talking about family time (while you're already in the military) seems like an attempt at just making click-bait articles to rile up bullshyt
