Its a chicken and egg problem
It's going to be extremely difficult to get into Duke more than it already is. We already got to deal with the fact that we aren't competitive because we don't come from a top tier HS or an elite broading school which cost 100k a year where the students are well prepped to shine at an elite institution.
With the world being more have to have nots than ever before, how can you get Black kids who are elite at their schools when they are extremely behind the 8 ball in comparison to their competition.
Education is literally the only equalizer that exist in America. Some will say athletics but that takes genetics to an extreme degree.
the next generation of black youth will be back to celebrating: “The first black to do xyz” again
This is literally what happened in Jim Crow….

Even though Howard doesn't have a lot of wealth, it has a massive network with its government connections. These things matter. You are only capable of so much on our own. You need help and help only comes from those who consider you a brother or family and that means being a part of their network.

most of the leadership at these schools is conservative. Always has been. The loud activists fooled people into thinking they had power over the institution
This impacts everyone Black too. The only time we get the trickle down effect in the Black community, it's completely negativeand guess who always wants to shrink government, remove minority contracting, and limit programs to reach out to black students?
