That record is the tree that fell in the woods and nobody heard. Did it really make a sound?:russ:

NY founded rap :umad:

On top of that NY has the best golden era and the most classics. If you really looking for a reason to be mad most southern rap vets started out inspired by NY rappers as per their own words.

Them Lo Lifes...
like i'm sure bay area nikkas prefer 40, mac dre, short, and luniz over new york city artists, seems normal enough to me & isn't an issue. but dig it though:
Not really.

My fav artist is Rakim and Im from the Bay.

Yet you just named off a genre of music more affiliated with Mob Music.

You got Heiro, Zion I, Planet Asia, Blackalious, Lyrics Born and plenty of other rappers from the Bay that get overlooked.

But no, not everybody from the Bay is biased to Bay rappers.

Can't have a sandwich without bread.
What holds a sandwich together? Bread.
A sandwich doesn't need meat to be a sandwich.
Grilled cheese, tuna, pb&j, veggie, etc.
The meat (south) isn't necessary for a sandwich
to be good but the bread (east and west) is.

A lot of that shyt is just repressed anger from all those times when brehs was made fun of or were not given fair play.

but as much as East Coast is not running the direction of the music they still always have a top artist in the game mainstream wise. :ehh:

Preach!

I was working for a small street magazine at the time and I had the fortune of interviewing a well known Dungeon Family artist who I WONT NAME outside the Felt Forum just following the ending of the 1994 Source Awards...

Anyway we had addressed Andre 3000 comments about "THE SOUTH GOT SOMETHING TO SAY"

and he said and I quote...

"some of den folk in the WU was getting disrespectful backstage so we had to speak on it as well as some other rude azz sh1t we been dealing with here in this city (new york)"

And fellow dungeon family member CEE LO addressed it as well...

With a sub on the WU on the Still Standing intro :

I thought y'all n1ggas was the GEE OH DEE(GOD) sounds like another
N1gga to me
:umad:

And let's not forget Thurston Howell comments dissing Flex for playing all that "country sh1t from Master P and Cash Money"

Yeah the Hate was definitely REAL

Wu hated everybody

New York is the bread, meat, cheese, that’s why we’re considered heros. We made mince meat out of the industry.
:troll:

Besides that, is bologna really considered meat though?? our history and legacies speak for itself. If anything, other regions were the two ends of the bread that people use out of necessity or the generic no name-store brand, left over because they ran out of fresh bread and served their purpose, until the restock.

I swear, people gotta be touched af, thinking of creative ways to hate on one city that doesn’t acknowledge you or care.

Don’t see how anyone that watched the clip could have a problem with what he said. From the thread title I assumed Lil J was going to imply or explicitly state why the south is more important but his whole reasoning was “you can’t have a real sandwich without the meat”. You also can’t have a real sandwich without both pieces of bread. I took his comments more as the south is just as important rather than the south is more important and he only called the south “the meat” because it’s in the middle.
