What would you rather your star player to have as a trait :ohhh:

efficiency Pros will never shoot you out a game :yeshrug:
Cons Seems like that player will not shoot you into a game or make a come back after they are down

Gunner Pros super confident never will concede a loss
Cons will shoot you out a game :yeshrug:

Im more of a efficiency type of fan but thats just me

Neither.

Give me a player that loves to pass. :wow:

I want the guy that passes out of layups. That gets open looks all game only to find someone to force up a shot for them. I want the guy that couldn't hit a open jumper if their life depended it. Rondo or bust.

There are efficient gunners you know. Jordan for example. With that said, I'll roll the dice with a gunner, why? Efficient players tend to hit a ceiling and certain situations need to be forced in order to win. A bad shot I can live with, a good shot not taken because a player is trying to be efficient, I can't live with.

I automatically think of Kobe and Lebron. Being a Kobe fan wasn't for the faint of heart, often times you think :mindblown: when he shoots, but more often than not the result is usually :banderas::childplease: when the ball goes in.

Lebron (Miami) used to give me the same reaction when he didn't shoot in order to keep his FG% in check. Passing up good/great shots often times diminished his greatness, but the 2015 Finals made me love his game because he gunned because he wanted to win and that was his only chance.

How about one who just wins?

I swear this generation of sports fans who don't even watch the games anymore and try to make determinations about players based on analytics is flat out stupid.

The better player is the one that helps you win more. There are guys who fill up stat sheets that have no effect on winning and there are guys who just make winning plays that might not always translate to the things analytics likes.

Just watch the games. The best player is typically easy to see.

Nah because people don't tend to watch the whole game and have horrible confirmation bias.

How many people still say Lebron doesn't have a post game despite the fact that he's one of the best post players in the league? People are judging him based off a series 5 years ago.

Same with Kobe's passing ability. Kobe's a very talented passer but he rarely gets credit it for it because people only pay attention to his gunning.

People pretty much focus on highlights and bullshyt when evaluating players. It's annoying.

People focus on reputations more than anything else. It's why once you're considered a good defender you'll basically be considered one for the rest of your career. Doesn't matter if it starts falling off, people will remember you be called a good defender and stick with it.
