When will you cats learn that government fuks damn near everything up.

For the life of me I cannot wrap my head around how black folks think larger government is good for them.

Cops (the government) will shoot your ass...
...create a shytty environment for you to live in (public house)...
...and make you think you need them in order to make it (how a pimp brainwashes his hoes).

And we keep coming back for more :heh:

You ever been to a public hospital? :picard:

You ever have to deal w/ the government?
NOBODY enjoys it because its nothing but bureaucracy.

Black folks are too dependent on the government.
Its sad.
shyt aint that much different than slavery.

We dont even realize it.

They are telling you shyt is one way...
...but basic rules of life and survival will never change.

People on here always talking about brainwashed Republicans...
...well, there are a lot of folks brainwashed on the left too.

At this point, its either
small government = corps control you
large government = govt controls you
Damned if you do, damned if you dont. I'd lean towards a reformed, representative government which doesnt aim toward profits over a corporation any day :manny:

I bring up the most popular Medical plan in the country and you don't acknowledge it and bring up hospitals. :gucci:
So the free market and non-profits are doing right by us then? :jbhmm:
It's all a wash, the difference is citizens have more sway with the government compared to random companies and organizations.

The government can actually be pretty effective when the right isn’t constantly obstructing shyt for no reason.

Social Security, Medicare, and the VA are all government run programs and they’ve each got pretty high approval ratings. I’ve dealt with each one directly through my work and they’re surprisingly thorough and responsive given their size.

Y’all are going into overdrive with the fear mongering about the government. They’re far from perfect but we’ve got mountains of evidence showing that corporations and “the markets” aren’t going to solve shyt, despite what conservatives say.

There’s no guarantee that breaking up large banks would provide more opportunity, one could argue that certain business under the parent bank need their resources to survive, other wise they would fail as a stand-alone entity.

She is too hostile towards our industry, and She falls in line with the Bernie Bros who feels like she should be able to tell companies how much money they can make, and what salary should be enough for an indivdiual. I don’t want anyone capping my potential salary in the future.

The medical system here is a joke.
My girl just got a letter saying her premiums were going up another $200 (its gone up something like $400+ the past few years).

So im not trying to defend ANYBODY on that front.

I just dont like the idea of black folks wanting larger government.

We should be focused on being independent.

It strikes me as odd that we dont have a business class...
...the only minority group that doesnt.

No matter your political leanings...you dont find it odd that the only outspoken right leaning black people tend to be of the troll variety (fox news, etc...)?

Truth is...in private, there are A LOT of black folks in business that lean to the right.
But were not allowed to speak freely amongst each other out of fear of being labeled a "c00n" (not to mention, Republicans keep shooting themselves in the foot by courting racist).

NOBDOY respects those that need assistance/handouts.
It keeps yourself in perpetual victim mode.

Government can only provide survival...but a group of people dependent on it will forever be in turmoil.

People in politics are just as power hungry as those in the private sector.

Are you that fukkn stupid? You dumb shyt, MD Anderson is a public hospital. :laff:

You absolutely have no idea what you're talking about AT ALL. You never do.
You named one hospital :comeon:
Thats like naming one good public school and then forgetting the other atrocities around the country.

Please try and sell me on the idea that medicare is the best thing since sliced bread (and im somebody that thinks Medicare for all could be a good idea).

Nobody chooses that...youre on that when you have no options.

Even a Libertarian study says Medicare for All saves $2 trillion over 10 years.

Plus, it'd be health, dental, vision included. No premiums or deductibles.

Federal health expenditures go up but in the end national health expenditures go down without the waste, fraud, and abuse of the insurance industry and 330 million people in one pool to negotiate drug prices and other things. Insurance companies are more bureaucratic than Medicare which has a low overhead.

Oh and you say government can only provide survival... yet thousands upon thousands die because of this health care system for profit.

:mindblown: you still don't understand what you're talking about...public is a category of hospitals..there are public and private...public not for profit...public for profit...etc etc etc

Of course she's hostile to your industry dude. They got bailed out, regular people didn't. That's the simple crux of it all.

Once the system was stabilized in early 2009, we had an opportunity to restructure and break up Citigroup in particular, but we didn’t do that. I think that was a missed opportunity. We just reinforced too-big-to-fail with all these bailouts, let’s face it. Other than Lehman Brothers, nobody took their medicine. Restructuring Citigroup would have sent a powerful signal that the government had the gumption and courage to stand up to these very large institutions, and to impose losses on bond holders.

I think we’ve improved the system on the margin. There are higher capital requirements, there’s better bank liquidity, less reliance on short-term financing, less reliance on debt among the regulated banks. Those are all positive things. But the financial system we have is still basically the financial system we had in 2008, with more capital and less reliance on short-term funding, so whether it’s enough? I hope it is.

I wish we had more Republicans who would stand up to these cronies who want the government bailouts. I think a lot of people still want that on Wall Street — it’s secretly what they want. They think it’s the government’s obligation to keep them afloat. I’m a capitalist, and I’d rather have the state own them than have that system.

It’s very frustrating. It’s just stupid economics. Set the morality aside; it’s just dumb economics to have a system like this where you’re propping up inefficient, bloated institutions. So there are good economic reasons to not have the system we had in 2008, and whether we’ve gotten rid of it or not I don’t know. I think we won’t know until a big bank gets in trouble again. Then we’ll see what happens. I don’t even want to think about what the political fallout would be.
