Bill Self said he talked to Embiid a day ago, and he said it's nothing major

So let me get this straight , not healing to the point that they expected by now isn't considered a setback ? :dwillhuh: they just arguing semantics now . It's a setback

The fact this came out right before the draft... wouldn't surprise me in the least bit of some master plan from Hinkle. They wouldnt of put out this info or let it leaked unless they wanted to. Could maybe put the stop to the Lakers drafting Russell then trying to trade him to us for Okafor AND their pick next year back (kinda what we did to Orlando last year) since we now have a "need" for a big man. Best case scenario: this is getting overblown, we draft Russell, embiid plays this season and everything is legit

How would that work ? The Lakers can pick whoever they want . Why would the team after them affect their decision making in the least

The sixers have been mediocre or worse for a decade. And the last time they were watchable was when they had a high lottery talent leading the team.

They tried to attract talent from free agency, and couldn't do it. So they're best option was to go back to the lottery and build a stable of talent.

I don't think people go to games to see a competitive outing, they go because it's their team... and they want their team to win.

This is what management sees as their best chance as sustained success... stockpile talent.

The losing pedigree talk is stupid, if you turn a roster over from garbage to talented over the course of 1-5 years... they go from being wack to being good. Whether it's from a trade or from a bunch of drafts.

The Heat, Celtics, Clippers, Warriors, Cavs have all undergone massive transformations in recent years from terrible teams, to great teams... in a variety of ways.

Simply: Good players make a good team.

No they haven't.

We played Orlando last year similiar to it when we drafted Elfrid Peyton who they wanted... Then traded him to them and got our pick back that we lost in Andrew Bynum deal an Dario Saric. I might be paranoid, but I could see the lakers knowing we have a log jam of big men, taking our guy (Russell) and trying to trade him to us for Okafor and their pick back next year (that top 5 protected pick that we missed this year)

I really don't know... I just think there's a bigger meaning behind all this information coming out so close to the draft

No they haven't.

Not since the plan shifted to tanking, but previously, they were unable to establish themselves as a free agent destination... which is WHY they ended up fixing their gaze on the draft.

Don't be purposely stupid, it's a waste of my time.
