Ad hominem attacks on forums is funny...

But Ad Hominem attacks in threads dedicated to creating a space for fans of a particular team to talk is ridiculously lame.

People out here stunting with their sports knowledge as if there is a journalist or team scout looking to pick up the no. 1 pick sports opinion.

shyt like that makes this thread toxic as fukk...

**Back on topic**

So possibly Lance to Clippers for Hawes & Barnes...hmm...That Calderon/Timmy deal I suggested is better though.

Ha @ me trying to hard to get rid of those two.:russ:

With respect to draft talk...Curry's play has really made me big on Russell now. Imagine if Russell can be even 70% on that talent.

It's not ad hominem if you attack the content of somebody's analysis along with their personality or character.

This is a Joel Embiid thread, and he randomly took a shot at me when I was not a part of the thread at all. So I went through and demolished his point with logic. And then, since I've presented the same facts over and over, and he fails to recognize them, or purposely misrepresents the, I called him stupid.

It's and ipso-facto situation.

You're in a Joel Embiid thread talking about Lance to the clippers. Which is either and off-topic mis-post OR your just got hyped seeing knicks talk, and thought you were back in the Knicks thread. Either way, it's all good.

I'm not stunting with sports knowledge, kid. I just have it, from experience covering the field.

And I'm not flexing when I type, I just writing for a living. This is light work in between having to cover things like the Trade Deal or a SCOTUS decision, this is fun time for me to burn off energy and chop it up on something less weighty or depressing. Yanno?

Another rambling ass post saying nothin

Doggy, these posts have been succinct as fukk. Don't be scared off by my use of the enter button.

If we're ACTUALLY getting back to the point:

The Sixers rolled the dice in a draft short on star-power for the highest ceiling prospect. The risk was injuries... the reward was a potentially franchise altering center.

Given the other options and their gameplan... I understand why they took their shot. Worst case scenario, you still might have an elite defensive/rebounding big to fall back on in Noel. I don't think they're upset they missed out on Marcus Smart of Dante Exum or Payton or Vonleh, etc etc etc.

Don't know if this has been said, but the sixers are missing the point.

People go to work, come home and go to the game because they want to see a competitive outing win or lose.

The sixers have been mediocre or worse for a decade. And the last time they were watchable was when they had a high lottery talent leading the team.

They tried to attract talent from free agency, and couldn't do it. So they're best option was to go back to the lottery and build a stable of talent.

I don't think people go to games to see a competitive outing, they go because it's their team... and they want their team to win.

This is what management sees as their best chance as sustained success... stockpile talent.

The losing pedigree talk is stupid, if you turn a roster over from garbage to talented over the course of 1-5 years... they go from being wack to being good. Whether it's from a trade or from a bunch of drafts.

The Heat, Celtics, Clippers, Warriors, Cavs have all undergone massive transformations in recent years from terrible teams, to great teams... in a variety of ways.

Simply: Good players make a good team.

Now I see why D'angelo was "sick" and missed his sixers workout

No kid dreams of joining the NBA in a franchise which after last year put a new embarrassingly worse spin to the term 'tanking'

The lineup literally changed every night under the guise of 'we're trying to find something that works'. Running 6 9 Jakarr Sampson at PG is not trying something that works. Limiting Thomas Robinson's minutes when he was averaging 9 and 9 in under 15 minutes is not something that works. Having a revolving door at SF is not something that works. Teams ran entire backup units with 1 starter against the Sixers.

It'd be so scary to me if I was a top pick thinking the sixers might take me

You're clearly an intelligent poster. Your words arent a mistake. I'm all for entering the unapologetic game of "let's shyt talk each other " but you somehow feel the need to take subtle jabs at posters in unnecessary ways.

"I'm not stunting with sport knowledge, kid." Why, breh?

I'm not a kid, breh. I mean you're an interesting poster because I've come to expect it. I'm just trying to understand you've little more. I have no interest in playing the game with you...I'm trying to avoid all that and be able to talk sports with you and others.

So, your reasoning?

And with respect to talking about Lance. Yes, I def thought I was in the Knicks thread, I'm getting notifications from everywhere and once I saw the back and forth between you and stat, I literally could have sworn I was in the other thread.

Another period of irrelevance for Philly. A shame we're not likely to see what kind of a player Embiid could've become. :mjcry:

Embiid is currently experiencing no pain in his foot and he feels fine, it's just that doctors expected more healing at this point:manny:

Bill Self said he talked to Embiid a day ago, and he said it's nothing major

On Monday, Embiid’s college coach, Bill Self, addressed the media and discussed what he knows about the latest chapter in his former pupil’s story.

Benton Smith of KUSports shared some of Self’s comments on Embiid.

“Basically, he’s been working out and everything, and the doctor told him, based on doing the MRIs or X-rays or whatever they do, even though it feels better, it doesn’t look like it’s made the progress they would hope at this stage, so they were gonna slow him down,” Self told the media.

Self also took the time to draw a distinction between a “setback,” and what Embiid has been told.

“By no means, from what [Embiid] has told us, ‘slow down’ does not mean major setback. It means they’re gonna give it a little bit more time to heal before they put him in stressful situations.”

For Sixers fans who were ready to press the panic button, take a step back and take a deep breath. Embiid reportedly was not hurt doing any particular activity and he is not experiencing pain.

Could this be an absolutely dire situation for the franchise? Yes, it absolutely can.

However, it is too early to panic.
