Ok, what? Your point is that most of rap sales aren't coming from whites. I see more whites listening to Drake than anyone, especially white broads.
Yes except you were replying to him as if Eminem is just like every other rapper, solely talking about such things. Eminem has had more variety of content in his music than 99% of any rappers.

The OK is I'm not going to continue arguing the point. I said what I said in this thread and I stand behind it. You grew up in the 'suburbs' and probably still live there, so of course you're going to hear CACs listening to Drake. Quote me again when you can prove that 70% of rap consumers are white.

like ten years ago

I just said I'm in Storrs. I'm around thousands of people of all races.. Why do I have to prove a statistic that you made up?![]()
And guess what? In terms of content, he has worse content. How many rappers nowadays are talking about raping women and beating them up?
Looking at his past songs, his so called "variety" is based on juvenile content that would resonate with rebellious 12 year old suburban kids. You sound just like the white people talking about how "he talks about real topics" when his content is more absurd and insensitive than what most rappers out here put out.
The man has every fukking audience that buys his albums - whites, blacks, teenagers, radio audience, and I bet more adults buy Em's albums than any other popular rapper.
I didn't make it up. And there's no Storrs where I live at, so I don't know who shops there. If you're not trying to debunk my original point, why are you replying to me?
He has worse content than rappers albums where every track = the next track? Drugs, sex, party...track after track.
How the fukk does he NOT talk about real topics? Look at Eminem's catalogue. He has a song for every sort of emotion and topic. If I Had, Rock Bottom, The Way I Am, Marshall Mathers, White America, Cleanin' Out My Closet, Sing For The Moment, Halie's Song, Till I Collapse, etc, etc and etc. Yeah man his conent is so juvenile and absurd.
I guess I should have been more clear. I'm at UConn. Your original point was that whites didn't start listening to rap until the 2000's and my point is that this discussion of "who buys what" has been going on a lot longer than that.. As far as I've ever known, white people buy a ton of music and some of it is rap. They dwarf other races in population in this nation so why is it so hard to believe that they would be the majority of rap sales?
Because common sense tells us otherwise (or it should). As someone stated earlier in the thread, white people who buy rap mainly buy the major stars, primarily the superstars of rap. The lineup changes ever few years, but this main concept stays true. If I ask the average white rap listener about AZ or Kool G Rap, they probably aren't going to know who the hell I'm speaking of. True, AZ and Kool G Rap don't sell much nowadays, but along with all the other rappers who aren't on superstar levels, they still release albums. Again, 24 million rap albums were purchased last year, yet not one album released in 2012 went platinum by year's end. If whites primarily buy only the hottest rappers out, how the hell are MILLIONS of rap albums who are not necessarily superstars also being sold without any new album going platinum? Blacks buy albums, but they also download like every other race on the Earth. People give whites WAAAAYYYY too much credit in a genre not even meant for them. If you don't get it after what i just laid out, not sure what to say. Like I stated earlier, whites DO purchase the majority of music sold (they have more genres rock, alternative, country, pop etc.), but that doesn't make them the main consumer of rap.
