also, is there any word on a new album? he workin on anything?

Yeah, he confirmed it a couple of months back.

:scusthov: at you niccas sayin that Em needs to work more with the likes of Drake, J Cole, Nicki ,Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, etc..
These niccas dont deserve to be on the same beat as Shady. Stop it. Em doesnt need to mess with or cater to that crowd. He'll do himself a great disservice by associating with that fukkery on a consistent basis.

I believe Em's next album should be a combination of the highs of Relapse and Recovery. Let me get this out the way : Relapse is the fukkin shyt. I love that fukkin album beginning to end. Alot of people hate on the album because of the accents, but it fitted in with exactly he what was trying to do : Create a Brooding, deranged, sick concept album. Additionally, the rhyme schemes, slim shady throwbacks and dres/em production was on point. Deja Vu, Stay Wide Awake, Underground, 3AM, Medicine Ball, Must Be The Ganja, etc are just good fukkin songs. Seems like every track he explored a different way to rhyme and the breh just nailed it. :obama:

However, even though the production sounds great on Relapse, it also sounds dated.

And that's where Recovery comes in. Say what you want about Recovery, but the album sounds fresh and more modern (for him) due to the new relationships with the likes of Just Blaze, Boi-1da, Mr. Porter and Havoc. That was a good decision by him since he needed to become relevant again.

Heading back to the production.. Seduction was probably the greatest beat I heard him rhyme on since Lose Yourself. Going Through Changes (and to a lesser extent Spacebound) felt like a follow up to the blissful Beautiful -- The tracks that he does best. Not Afraid was all over the radio when it dropped. None of the tracks on Relapse had that effect. Cold Wind Blows, WTP and Outro are just classic silly Em. So combine all that shyt for the next one.

When it comes to an Eminem album, I don't want Premo. I don't want the typical gutter, safe or soulful hip hop beats that you may associate with Nas or Common or whoever. That shyt is cool for little side songs like the WestWood's Microphone Fiend, Kanye's Stir Crazy or the Hip Hop Cypher, but on an album, I want something off the wall and unlike what's common, aka tracks that fit him best personality wise.

And that's what I think throws niccas off about Em. His personality. Granted, the slight cornyness will be there with him since he's a cac, but he's always been 100% authentic in who he his and the music he wanted to create. So there's a natural disconnect with the typical hip hop listener. But I'd wager if most listen to the breh (or music in general) with open mind they'll discover that they feel him more when you remove the desire to compare him to the norm.

On a side note, where's the Em smiley at on this muhfukkaaaaa :birdman:

So many people on here think he should cater to SOHH/COLI/dusty ass hip hop heads who dont even buy their favorite artists album.

He mentioned working on something in a Whoo Kid interview.

I still think he should go hyphy :manny:

It's not going to happen. You can have all the producers and features in the world but what does that have to do with him....

He was at his best and most relatable putting the middle finger up at those who judged him, now nobody judges him, he's universally revered

He had a sarcastic outlook on life and society which was refreshing and funny...now it's from a more serious/almost "conscious" POV...

Marshall Mathers has grown which makes it impossible for Eminem the MC to rekindle what he had. With Eminem you have to realize sometimes the best art comes from an otherwise counterproductive place for people...and that was him. The crazy white boy is gone and when he tries to imitate it it's just a bunch of word association. He's still technically precise as ever though

So you can take him for what he is now and get over it

Agree with many of the things people are saying, so i will just add one more thing.

No more bruno/b.o.b. pop songs please!

Before he made hip hop songs that was original and got acceptet by the pop audience.
Now he raps over candy soft pop beats that dont match the album just to get a hit.
It sounds like any of the new pop "hip hop" beats that b.o.b./drake/lil wayne/nicki would rap over.

Im not saying he should go back to make "my name is"-type of songs, that is played out.

And dont want to repeat the Just lose it/we made you-disasters. :snoop:

Yea, he was at his best when he was drug fueled and angry. Though he has improved technically as a rapper, it's not the same, but he came close to brilliance in Relapse.

at his peak Eminem was an unbelievable MC

its just ridiculous how much he fell off

yet hes still better than many many many rappers these days ( even though his music is garbage ass trash now)
