Should be an option. Driving to the office or commuting doesnt work for everyone. Some people live miles away. Obviously commuting does affect work productivity. Ive always had to turn down jobs because of location. It would work out if i lived in the same neighborhood or city but the travel... its not worth it.

I think people need to be realistic with their lifestyles to match their needs. The office has been outdated. Those days are over. Time to stop being oppressed and get back our humanity

“HuMaN iNtErAcTiOn”

:russ:

No more “I’m offended by what you said”, no more “Metoo” situations, no more public transportation, no more going out to lunch or happy hours.

“Bu..Bu... the Building! We have to show our clients we’re important”

FOH

You can get on a zoom and talk to them no problem. I don’t know any black person who is thirsty to go back. Remote is probably the best for black ppl if we’re being honest.

WFH = Self driven, Independent

Go back to office = Attention starved , needs supervision

:unimpressed:

This is exactly what we see at work.

90%+ in my department prefer WFH. We had 2 WFH days/week pre-COVID and then moved to full time WFH when COVID broke out.

My manager for the last 6 years has lived 1,000 miles away from me and most of the team. I have 10 years experience and happen to be the least experienced person on the squad. We don't need hand holding.

The handful of folks that want to return are Boomers that like attention from leadership. Ironically, they are also the ones with some of the longest commutes.

Been flipping PS5's and getting deeper in the stock and crypto game (AMC diamond hands). All while still doing my job as well, if not better than before. In the office, none of that would have been as easy.

I have to go back full time tomorrow. I’m fukking pissed. I get more work done. I’m in a Sr position so I’m constantly interrupted with personal bs I don’t care about. I just got promoted to a role created for me and I still and ready to jump ship. I’ve been interviewing and am only considering companies with remote or flex hybrid. I really don’t want to deal with the yts and my anxiety has been almost non existent since being out of the office.
90% of those that report to me are out of state as well. There’s no valid reason for me to be in the office 5 days a week.
Bring it up in your exit interview so that hopefully the next brehs that join the company don't have to suffer.

I’m a chick. But I’ve already got it typed up and just keep editing it when I think of something else to add. By the time I’m ready to submit it. I’ll have hopefully a very specific list.

I really do hope that those with the means to stand their ground continue to hold...I don't blame people if they have to go back because they may not have a choice because of their income....but rest assured employees will NEVER have this opportunity to negotiate this again.

I'm for the hard line WFH with maybe a once or twice a week in office work day....but none of that soft return BS....to me its either WFH or nothing

Love it. The pandemic sucked but it showed us what life could be in some ways too. Adapt or die :pacspit:

Just picked up a gig that they redesigned altogether just so I could work from home. And they asked for a list of places where I want to move when my lease is up so they can tweak it accordingly.

If they want you, they'll do whatever they have to to get you

What type of job y’all do? I’m tired of medical/healthcare.

If you in medical position where you have to be at the hospital all the time see if you can pivot into telehealth. There will be a lot more WFH potential for medical professionals in this area. That part of the medical field is going to explode now that everyone has seen the technology works.
