False, the date was not hear say. They literally committed to a release date via press release, social media, etc. There was an official announcement from their joint news letter. The August 29th release date was mentioned here.
		
		
	 
Fair, although if you don’t sign up to the newsletter or go to the show then you’re not going to know the release date.
In regards to the socials, they both still don’t have the date on any of their profiles and the August 29th release date mentioned here was posted with no link to the source - just took it as good faith that is was happening as the person who posted is solid.
Not saying it’s not happening - I’m saying the promo for album itself is very lowkey. If you’re promoting an album then the key point of information is the release date and as said, they’re going hard with the tour content but it’s strange that they’re not pushing the release date as hard for an album that we know is coming, especially as it’s a long awaited comeback album for an all-time legendary artist.
