Too many people are getting their MBA and are over-qualified for jobs, and driving the value down at the same time. Like I said, Americans have to go back to entrepreneurship, not just high paying employees doing rigorous work for corporations, if they want to restore its first-world status. Colleges are scamming people left and right and soon gonna collapse like the real estate market back in 2007.

Whether the market is oversaturated with MBAs is hardly relevant as regards any one individual. Any individual only requires one gainful job, which is most attainable through a employment-driven graduate degree like a MBA. Graduate degrees in fluffy white tower subjects like English are interesting, but such degrees' returns aren't as high as a MBA, finance or law degree. To succeed as an entrepreneur, a working knowledge of business and the capital market is often required. Studies have found that poor people tend to get better returns from graduating college than any other income group by virtue of the fact that poor people start at the bottom.

Yeah, but colleges are putting people with STEM majors in crazy debt that takes 10+ years to repay. The cost of college is hyperinflated as it is.

The opportunity cost is higher for not attending college than it is for attending college. Unless a person is already rich or has a job lined up, the only options left are college, the sex market, McDonalds or prison. I guess one could keep saying, "I wanna be a rapper" until they're a 40 year old destitute old head with no education. That's there too.

That doesn't give the excuse to raise costs of college without reason.

I'm gonna keep it ALL THE WAY real on this one...

If you're not making money, in 2015, with all of the knowledge and information you have access to at a click of a button after a Google search, then YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE MAKING MONEY. There's no excuses any more, you just have to go out and get it.

:stopitslime: said it best... "Can't get paid in an Earth this big, you worthless kid"

And I'm not talking about making $2 million per year or anything like that, but if you wanna do something out here in 2015 99% chance it's YOU holding you back and nothing else.

But that's what colleges do too... set you up to be an employee where you have to beg somebody else to give you a job. Gotta stop doing that shyt, brothers.

Edit: I didn't read the article by the way, so if I come off ignorant :yeshrug: I just read the headline.

My post has nothing to do with college costs. I agree with you but what can you do? We need degrees to get jobs. Need good grades to get good jobs too, especially when you're black. :manny:

Speak perfect English at your job interview and tell your cac boss he looks spiffy at every opportunity. :manny:

Laugh at jobs but not too loudly. Don't want to seem obnoxious.

Problem is, people do that and still getting underpaid. That is something fundamentally wrong with the economy. Stop getting these skills that employers underpay you for. Work for yourself.

A "underpaid" professional is still better off than any person you'll meet in the hood. Plus, you can always scheme to get better jobs and for more pay after you graduate and get into your job.

I'm Black, but I just don't have any type of inferiority complex, but I used to, so I know for a FACT that the money is out there to be made. There's no excuses out here any more, breh... it might be HARDER, but it's definitely doable.

It's important to state though that my post was more about earning money and less about having a "career" though. In 2015 you don't really have to have somebody else give you a job anymore though.

shyt, there are IT workers with certs that are getting paid less than 50k. Even working in a job, the mobility caps off around 120k after 10 years, working 60+ hour work weeks. That is too much stress for most people to handle. Can't have a country like America filled with IT workers that are disposable.

@Emperor_ReinScarf probably makes more money than you and you're pretending to tell him about the job market and how to make money. Most of the black professionals on the Coli seem to make good enough money. That nikka is IT lives good. Dude travels around and fukks other people's wives too, apparently.

You don't get it. There's no other choice It's the same everywhere. The job market is worse in Europe. You HAVE to get an education and use it to get a JOB. Pretty much any other choice is the same as choosing poverty.
