Someone mentioned Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, Too Short put out a double disc for his greatest hits as well but Pac clearly started the trend by putting out the successful AEOM. So I would say that they were biting him. They weren't following the lead of Too Short, Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince or anyone else mentioned and it certainly wasn't a coincidence either. He popularized the idea.

U said absolutly nothing.....Outside of the genre of Hip Hop the double album existed since the 60's and 70's. I mean come on now, the legendary Songs In The Key Of Life was a double album. You gonna really try to convince me that the double album was popularized by 2pac when Stevie Wonder made history in Black music doing that 2 decades prior? :what:

MJ and Prince were doing double albums in the 90's before Pac aswell.

To sit there and actually think that 2pac popularized the idea of the double album is fallacy and tip riding at its worse.

There is a difference between a double album (record), double cassette and double cd though. Everyone knows that the technology advancements is what kept the record industry afloat. People buying tapes one year spending ten dollars then the next year spending twenty on a cd. The idea of putting out twice as much product and people buying it by the millions became a new business model. Pac put the double cd on the map. Biggie was obviously competing with Pac with the double cd, the Bone collab on it as well as Long Kiss Good Night. Give him and DR their props!

Just gave a friend RUSD as an xmas gift :blessed:

That's a hell of a gift I only have one friend who was ever even a real die hard Pac fan besides me. Me and him used to battle with dudes in high school about Pac and Biggie, finally I came out and said Jay was better than both, this is after laying in bed falling alseep for like a week straight every night just fukking dissecting RD, Vol. 1, and Vol. 2, word for word and just having like an epiphany, **tin foil hat time** like there were subliminal messages in there or some shyt, but I finally just sat up outta no where and was like holy shyt Jay's the nicest to do it, and this was WAYYYYY before it was a popular argument that he was even the best out, and here I was claiming he was the best to ever do it, and this was a good year or two before Blueprint dropped. Dudes didn't hate on Jay, but no one wanted to hear that he was the GOAT. Years later I seemed kind of prophetic with that call.

Hahaha for real though all things considered I just thought after really dissecting his shyt especially RD that he was as good as anyone that ever did it. I been out drinking and smoking as you can probably tell hahaha so don't mind my completely off topic rant.

After all that nonsense, I'd just like to emphasize how old school real Pac fans are, and how rare and great the real copy of RUSD would be as a gift to a real Pac fan. I still have mine, but I'd even be excited about an extra copy given to me as a gift. Well done on your part breh.

Its funny cuz the back of the cd is updated to include a 2pac youtube address and I think a twitter

Wonder if they remastered the songs :ohhh:

RUSD has no filler in my opinion but I do feel a few originals were better (i.e. thug style, enemies with me, I'm losing it)

Most of the album was original songs tho

If it was remastered I'd think they mention it no, but what the hell do I know?

Where did you find it, Amazon?

To this day Hellrazor is one of my favorite songs ever made, man I remember the first time I ever heard that shyt I was, or at least I thought I was ready for war hahah. That whole cd is great.

The obvious ones, I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto both versions are amazing, When I Get Free is my shyt, Do For Love is one of my all time hip-hop songs I think a lot of people would agree. Lie To Kick It, Let Them Thangs Go, damn it is actually a very underrated cd. Only Fear of Death is just straight up haunting. His shyt was like cinematic, I don't know if that's the right word, but it really was much more of an experience than just a normal cd. I think that's part of what made him so great, he wasn't a traditionally great rapper in terms of technical ability, he was just a poet with a solid delivery, whose passion and energy oozed out of him and every word. GOAT hip-hop personality ever hands down. Had to die for America to maintain the status quo. Sad to see anyone go, but especially such a gifted young man who could've changed so much for the better and made young kids see the world in such a different light.

RUSD is hands down the best posthumous album in the genre. It flowed, was cohesive, the beats/hooks worked with the lyrics and it felt like it had been sequenced by 2Pac himself. I actually enjoyed the vast majority of the remixes on there over the OGs too, although "Enemies With Me" is still one of the worst remixes released by Amaru.

I had such high expectations for the rest of the 2Pac posthumous releases after they pulled this off so well. Gotta wonder how they messed up pretty much every single release that followed with their wack features and pop hooks/beats.
