Owners have seen how business has improved since the last CBA so why not go for the grand slam in the next negotiations. They dont care about the quality of the game though :manny:

That's never the case because there's not enough superstars for that effect to be had throughout. Even now you either get maxed out or vet minned. Rarely in between

That's because there isn't any true negotiation. Having max salaries makes both sides lazy. You remove max salaries and have a hard cap and people are gonna have to actually think. You can't just throw a max salary at a guy because you would have to consider the cap ramifications going forward. You would have to consider whether or not he was truly worth the investment. You can't just ask for max money because there is no max to ask for.

You are right there aren't enough superstars to go around. You would have the 5 or 6 teams built around a supertar, with a bunch of role players. You would have 10 or so more who think that they have a superstar with a bunch of role players. And then you would have the rest of the the teams doing their best 04 Pistons impression.

So LeBron should make the same as Roger Mason?

Sounds like the NFL to me:blessed:

Just raise the age limit and make people have to be 3 years removed from HS in order to enter the draft, implement that hard cap, remove guaranteed contracts and we have competitive basketball and parity in the NBA:ohlawd:

Now, even teams like the Charlotte Bobcats will be able to finally compete with the major market teams:ahh:

Only problem with that is that and invididual great player in basketball has waaaaaaaaay more impactful than a great football player. You can never truly have parity in the NBA because the team with the best player is gonna win out almost every time.

yeah true...but the talent would be spread out over the league in a hard cap & non guaranteed contract situation

Not necessarily. the heatles took pay cuts to form. And as a player if I'm not gonna get my value why am I gonna play hard? There's no incentive. I'm also gonna link up with players who will make my job easier.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
People who root for the owners during CBA negotiations get the automatic :dahell:. Like, why? For what? :dahell:. Old rooting for the bourgeoisie when you're part of the proletariat and probably will be for life lookin' boys. :dahell:. You aren't going to "improve" the game through restructuring of the CBA. You just make the owners more wealthy. A team like the Bobcats suck for reasons well beyond a "hard cap," or whatever other restriction you want to put on franchises. They're inept. They draft dudes like Bismack Biyombo in the lottery. :stopitslime:

They need to do away with the age limit all together, not increase it. Only in sports dominated by blacks do people feel the need to, "protect them from themselves." Nobody says shyt when Christiano Ronaldo is already a pro at 16, when Martina Hingis is a pro at 14 and retired at 22 (even though she came back from the injuries), or Jennifer Capriati is coked out of her gourd before she can legally buy alcohol. :stopitslime:

The NBAPA needs to go after Donald Fehr da gawd. He'd be a big upgrade over fired and tepid ass Billy Hunter.
