My brother's keeper
shyt's all about money

All that competitive balance/parity blah blah....just buzzwords to get people on their side.

As long as you play 7 games, the team with the best players will win. You want parity, make the playoffs a one game knockout tournament, that will be some parity for your ass. Play 82 games then have everything decided in a 2 week playoff.. But that will cost them money.

@Newzz your squad got 'chips in the high teens, but because y'all are in dip shyt got to change? fukk that, it's another team's time to eat.

As far as the old nikkas, Jordan made the playoffs with a sub .500 record in the 80s, so I'm not trying to hear that shyt.

To be fair, MLB makes nets 2x the profit the NBA nets.

Those are numbers from nearly a decade ago. The Lakers just signed a $2 billion deal for local TV rights and the NBA is about to renew its national contracts in 2016. The league's profits are about to skyrocket.

The fukking Sacramento Kings just sold for an NBA record $535 million. Again, that was the Kings. Now imagine what the rest of the teams in the league are now worth.

This season has been ass though. I'm not even saying that because I'm a knick fan....I don't have the urge to watch non-knick games that I had in past seasons. I still watch, but still...

They really need to shorten the season to 66 games and make them more meaningful.

I don't think the product is as bad as people are saying it is. It is bad because a lot of teams are tanking this year but I think ESPN, ABC & TNT are simply showing the worst games (many featuring the Bulls, Lakers & Knicks) meanwhile teams that are actually young, playing well & on the come up such as the Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards are being ignored.

I actually think a lot of people don't actually like basketball and it's the NBA's fault. People have been marketed Bird vs Magic, Jordan vs Everyone else, Kobe vs Bron, etc for so long that people don't care to just enjoy the game of basketball. Look at Lebron's 61 point game.....Instead of enjoying it everyone immediately brought up Kobe's
I think this is the main thing. Only casual fans say the NBA is horrible now or some shyt like that. That includes Charles Barkley, who admits every other week he doesn't watch but a small amount of teams and games. People like him can analyze the sport effectively, because they played it at a high level. But the league, they're as informed as the average fan.

You can't blame the fans though. The Networks choose what games to broadcast and all the marquee teams are bad right now. People can't judge what they can not see. League Pass is not in HD in my area I'm not gonna pay an extra $100 to watch grainy video.
