When drake spits a verse on anybody's song it's not the most talked about verse amongst those in hip-hop?

I'm gonna focus on this in particular because it's so :mjlol:

Hell fukking no. :dahell:
The fukk year do you think it is? :mjlol:

People are clowning his raps on his new album. Twitter was going in the night the album dropped.

"Toy with me like a Happy Meal"? :mjlol:

You seriously think Drake got the most talked about lyrics in hip-hop in 2016? He sold a lot, I'll give you that. But let's not get crazy and act like people respect his bars in 2016.

He ain't been taken seriously as strictly a rapper since the QM shyt. Even Obama, who isn't exactly a "real hip-hop head" knows enough to differentiate between somebody like K Dot and Drake....how don't you? :francis:

Drake represents the gentrification of hip-hop and his stans try and claim his as a legend when it's been proven that the majority of his accomplishments have been built on fraud.

He makes decent music sometimes and it wouldn't be an issue if he wasn't as influential as he is. But because people who aren't in the culture want to label him #1, it has a toxic impact on music overall.

If the general public doesn't fukk with you, they aren't going to fukk with you regardless of how much money a label spends trying to make them successful.

100% false. This thread is reaffirming the stereotype that females shouldn't be taken seriously when discussing rap music.

"Fancy" was a flop. Clear Channel hand picked it to spin thousands of times in a program called "On The Verge" where they more or less force a song to be a hit.

And :ohhh:it turned into a hit.

HOW SWAY? you might ask.

Because the human brain is wired to respond to repetition. Even a song you initially hate, you're more likely to like after constantly hearing it than a song you liked in the first place.

This is hard science.

Music and Emotions in the Brain: Familiarity Matters

Research suggests that repeated exposure is a much more surefire way of getting the general public to like a song than writing one that suits their taste. Based on an fMRI study in 2011, we now know that the emotional centers of the brain — including the reward centers — are more active when people hear songs they've been played before. In fact, those brain areas are more active even than when people hear unfamiliar songs that far better fits with their musical taste.

I'm sure this is the part where you say "bu bu but it's not fool proof"....so? Nothing is. Doesn't change the fact that enough money and effort put into a hunk of shyt record can and will turn it into a hit. You thought they left this kind of shyt to chance? You thought all those IG thots repeating Drake lyrics was because of the quality? :mjlol:

Now please take several seats. Preferably on my face, because you're kinda cute. :shaq:

What makes you think I did? The album thread and Twitter and hell, social media in general were full of his "bars" the night it dropped.

Meanwhile, I was listening to Gibbs. :whew:

The album was so poorly received on here I didn't even clown it in the album thread. I posted once and bounced.

Here's some food for thought in terms of race: Two of the rappers in the game right now that we are being told are the best and are some of the highest selling are bi-racial (Drake/Cole) at the same time we have a bi-racial president. Coincidence? Or the redefining of what it means to be Black?

y'all were angered before any mention of a Quentin Miller.

I'm :mjlol:how you dudes constantly try to rewrite history.

I've basically always thought Drake was a clown but the vast majority of this board liked his shyt at some point. The last year has more or less been death by a thousand cuts in terms thinning out his Coli fan base. A lot of the guys currently criticizing him were fans to some extent prior to QM....and most of the people in the "Views" thread shytting on it were fans.

I know it's simpler to paint in broad strokes of "everyone hates on Drake", but it's bullshyt. :yeshrug:

Dude's been getting shytted on since Thank Me Later. If it wasn't about the music, then it was definitely about him and how he went about shyt (he's always been an easy target). You can't deny that.

The problem with what you said is that a lot of the guys currently criticizing him will front like they always thought Drake was a clown just like you.

And you were going thru page by page, tweet by tweet long enough to know the album was a majority non-rapping:francis:
That's a lot of time spent on an artist you don't like. :francis:
Like I said, I don't like Drake and outside of Hotling Bling I couldn't tell you one line or song from the album because I don't pay attention to shyt I'm not a fan of :francis:
