I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would.
Gave me a nice break from all the shooters and zombies as of late.
Worth it, to me.

I skipped 4 because I thought it was too much like 3...grabbed this one and immediately felt at home because it isn't far off from the third one and probably even closer to 4. That said, applying the Far Cry style of play to a prehistoric tribal setting is a perfect match. The animal taming is great (I used to lure lions into enemy posts and snipe from outside, this is similar strategically but they've made the attacking animals less devastating to enemies...at least compared to 3). Building the village is a pretty sick addition too, you actually watch the place grow and fill up as you recruit new guys and use resources on buildings. Combat is similar to how it's always been but with primitive weapons that make it more difficult to just snipe away at an outpost until you've cleared. It's Far Cry...same as the other ones...but if you like the gameplay, the new dressing makes it a lot of fun and the little changes are all improvements.

Well put.
I'd like to say that the owl definitely comes in handy when planning an outpost takeover.

So I just played this for 2 hours on PC. Sli works kinda (scaling is bad), but I'm getting mostly 60fps at ultra 1440p, but dips into the 50s in the snowy area for no apparent reason (others are experiencing the same problem).

That aside, it turns out playing a melee version of Far Cry isn't that fun :francis:

I can't recommend this game. It has the typical ubi formula: find the enemy strongholds, beat them, and then capture it. Having only a bow and a club isn't fun either. Interesting idea, but I'm not a big fan of melee only games. Dunno how far along I will get in this game. :patrice:

At least there's no sli flicker :yeshrug:
