You can't bid offers that you can't pay for breh :what:
It's likely that ESPN will have to offer LESS money to the sports league when negotiations come back up, your argument is that other smaller channels are going somehow make up the difference even though they make even less money than ESPN, won't have the subscribers, and likely the leagues won't have the ratings to justify the increased contracts anyway? :skip:

Ok

ESPN Loses 621,000 Subscribers; Worst Month in Company History

The NBA TV Contract Isn't Sustainable

You can pay for shyt and still lose money on it. Almost like a glorified credit card. Disney is going NOWHERE breh. You forgot who owns ESPN. These companies are already losing tons of money on EXISTING contracts. They just know how to write it off for tax purposes. Fox got in the game with the NFL with a TV contract amount that lost them money annually. That's how it works b.

people keep bringing up money, this team gave away 2 mil to the bucks for mccaw

i see them doing this every year for the foreseeable future

i love iggy but he better be ready to take a paycut

Just depends man. These owners can be willing to spend then be like naw no more. Dont get me wrong I believe lacob gonna spend to keep Durant and Curry especially because of that stadium.

But I can see him also pulling a Buss or Reinsdorf years later and closing his wallet and saying enough.

Yep when fox first got the NFC in the 90s they were losing money by the pound.

The view Fox had was that the NFL was the only way to make them a true established network that could compete with the big 3. Decades later they are considered just as good as a network as the 3. Now network tv is considered the big 4.

i dont know these guys are about winning, they have massive egos

i can see that happening when klay, steph, durant, and dray get old but that wont be for a long time

there paying for that stadium, it has to be full no matter what of they risk losing money

of course there going to keep this team together

These dudes ain't gone take that big of a pay cut. Especially Iggy. Warriors bandwagoners in here trying to stay calm and laugh it off but secretly like "you've made enough money Iggy take one for the team :sadcam:"

people are in here saying they CAN"T resign Iggy and Livingston tho and I still don't understand why not :ld:
Because you can't resign Durant by going into the luxury tax since they don't have his Bird rights.

They HAVE to use money under the cap of 100M to resign Durant. You can't "resign Durant first" because unless they renounce Iggy or Livingston their cap hold is still on the books no matter what. Once you renounce them you cannot resign them.

42. Can the renouncement be renounced? In other words, can a team un-renounce a player and then sign him using a Bird exception?
Only in one specific circumstance -- when they renounce one or more of their players in order to create enough cap room to sign another team's restricted free agent, but the restricted free agent's original team matches the offer sheet and keeps him. If that happens, the team can rescind the renouncement.

McCaw is being groomed to take Iggy's spot if worse came to worst. And y'all better hope Looney and Damian Jones don't turn out to be players......Looney is already solid.

Iggy won't be expensive and he'll take less to stay like he did when he first got here. They're hoping for our downfall, it's comical.

Yall have the utmost confidence speaking about people willing to take paycuts........

Endorsement money is no substitute for contract money.....

And how much of a paycut should he take? He got a baby mama that always tryna dig in his pockets...

As it stands...you guys have had luck because Stephen Curry is on a lousy contract...

Lets say they dont win this year.....you dont think that hard questions are gonna be asked?
