When I was super motivated it was easy because the work gym was right there for me b4 or after work.

But after a while coming home to baby girl would win out.

Do the best you can, for as long as you can.

Until they - child and mother both - develop a consistent sleep routine, you can put all that gym business aside. Once that's in place, you get back to having a discipline and setting the expectation that everyone else respects it. Workout time for you and mom, date night, whatever. Once you set that expectation, stick to it. Everything those first few years is about being able to balance routines/consistency and being able to adapt on the fly to random changes.

So...adult life, really :manny:

Bmore stand up!
Ima save you some time……

1) purchase a pull up bar to put atop of a doorway

2) buy a pair of sturdy DIP bars…a nice $100 or so pair… not no cheap shyt that’s gonna west out after 2 months….

3) buy a curl bar (barbell) and 2 dumbbells….and purchase 80-200 lbs worth of plates to put on them

4) purchase a weight vest that can fit up to 45lbs

5) purchase some resistance bands/cables

6) either purchase 1 large/heavy kettlbell or purchase 2 small ones

7) purchase a jump rope

-takes walks twice a day and take your baby with you when you go. Get oneof those backpacks that allow you to put an infant in it….It will give you time to bond with her

-burpees in the basement is great cardio as well

-invest in a treadmill

If you can’t get in shape with these things then you’re just destined to be a :flabbynsick: nikka

The gym is great don’t get me wrong but the things I just mentioned is literally all you need

Don’t forget tho, diet is more important than all of that shyt ☝🏾

Good luck and congrats

Dont over think it. It ain't that serious. Unless you don't trust your partner to be alone with the baby, then thats a while other bag of worms. If she not into fitness as much as you are you may catch some strays off them wild ass hormones because she WILL feel some type of way that you gone have to put her at ease from if you in shape and she still recovering...... If she can breastfeed feed as long as possible ......amenorrhea is a wonderful thing when your lady is breastfeeding and keep her without the hormone fluctuations at least until she comes back to herself.........make sure your routines are fluid to account for time constraints.......someday you may not have an hour, but you can spare the 15 to 20 for a tabata workout......consistency is the secret im sure you know by now.......stay consistent

I have an 8 and 10 year old. I work out at 5:30 am almost every day since I don’t have time to do so in the evening. That’s how I make time. Get back home around 7:00, get them ready for school while I clean up, get them to school and then I’m off to work.

The Truth
Just start.

Go to a gym and start with pushing/pulling machines and build a base. Then switch over to freeweights or cables before purchasing a bunch of equipment.

There are stuff you can do at home without equipment. But if you're serious a gym helps me to lock in more for why I’m there.

If you're just trying to get in shape for your kid then it shouldn’t take too much.

Invest in a few sets of dumbbells. They offer more variety that any other piece of equipment. Learn as many exercises with them as you can, and you’ll be able to sneak in a lot of workouts at home quickly and efficiently.

I write programs for people and you’d be surprised how shredded you can get from the comfort of home with only DBs and calisthenics.

The Other A
I’m about to be a father in November and the gym is something that is important to me. Now that I have a daughter coming up and no longer living for myself I’m motivated by being here as long as I can for her and one thing is by keeping fit and diet. How are you fathers able to go to the gym and parent at the same time?

Just stay consistent whatever you do

Days I dont feel like going to a gym I still get up and force myself to do some simple shyt in my living room or guest room. Push ups, crunches, arm curls ,squats or whatever... I even jump rope outside for bout 10 minutes..

In your case the baby comes first but soon as she sleep boom
