But black men do right? So tell me what are black men doing to keep history alive?

:beli:

Alex Haley: author/creator of Roots and Queen

Henry Louis Gates: Many Rivers (plus teaching various courses pertaining to the African disapora)

Tariq Nasheed: creator of the Hidden Colors documentary series

Steve McQueen: director of 12 Years A Slave

Spike Lee: director/producer of various movies and fundraising for various black causes

Just to name a few

Of course, these are all high-profile examples but there are various less-well-known black males being actively involved in preserving our history and making progress.

I was making no reference to black people. You have had been bad choice of words for a while. You are no position to criticize me.
Lank? Proof? It doesn't matter if you're making a reference to black people, you should know not to use an example like that when having a discussion with black men given the historical negative connotations of the word.

I use the analogy with no ill intent. Take the message and stop nitpicking as an attempt to derail.

I read this thread and I have came to the conclusion that a lot of these dudes suffer from what I call "white daddy issues". They associate black women rights to be themselves and speak for themselves as given privilege by white supremacy, hence the constant associating the two.

They either want the same type of privileges that they assume black women have or be in the position of power to choose and give these privileges. Kinda like brother and sister fighting over who's the favorite child and white supremacy being the parent.

But the issue is Black feminists know that theyre not the favorite and thats not what theyre fighting for. Theyre fighting just to recognized as human beings and not a tool for everyone to use. Its the men with this battery in their backs from internet gurus like tariq that result to show compassion and try to understand how these women feel. They wanna associate the bad ones just because it justify their own rage when they really need to do is ask questions and listen.

It is interesting that she doesn't know that.

It looks like she may be disconnected from her black brethren

Its crazy how these BW on The Coli (except a few) are NEVER in Black History or Black Current Events Threads.
yeah the majority just show up in men/women, or general topic threads. off the top of my head I see

@MarsPunka , @Elle Driver , and probably one or two more I can't name but that's it:yeshrug:
