That actually has to do with the fact that the a fast defender chasing the ball is usually faster than the attacker trying to control the same ball.
I understand the mechanic however I feel like they made the CB way to fast in FIFA since around FIFA 12.
I understand if a guy like Marquinhos, David Luiz or Chiellini can keep up with a fast striker but I see nikkas like Pique, Vidic and Terry catching up to players like Robinho or Neymar is just
Is not even that they are catching up that bothers me its the fact if a defender gets any where near the attacker, you slow down and can never reach full speed. This is the stupidest thing ever. Also, the collision system makes the game unplayable. Any little bump pretty much stops your progress, feels like FIFA 08 when you have a delay and player is unresponsive after a contact with a player.
I reached division 2 on ultimate team and I have to play with 2 CDM or 2 holding CM. Last year, I could play with any formation, but this year its like they don't even call off sides, so I need 6 on my back line. 90% of the people just run up the wings now and try to cross it, there is no other way to play.
Im not sure how ppl are saying the game look trash, like games move backwards in graphics, but I will say that NOTHING has changed but rosters since Fifa 13 so I definitely can't condone spending $60 on this

I believe him, I played 08 and 09, skipped 10, 11, and 12, came back playing '13 and still dominated. This is pretty much the same game since '08...its was bad enough they got rid of tactical defending last year, but this damn collision system is a joke.

I'm an avid FIFA gamer and this year's edition is indeed trash. Like what @Suicide King was saying, any little bump on your ballcarrier slows him down and he loses the ball extremely easily. This exaggerated collision system has pretty much nullified the standing tackle button because all you have to do is brush up on a player.
Also, the player feel like they are running in mud with this new "weighted footing" system they have. They implemented it to try and counter the speed whores but now every player is entirely too sluggish. A guy like Puyol should not be able to consistently change direction and pivots as quickly and swiftly as a Marco Reus or Pierre Aubamayeng. It's ridiculous.
Another problem: I play online a lot and 75% of the games are in the rain. The game's system and new mechanics are bad enough and the rain just amplifies it even more.
Don't even get me started on the goalkeeping...
It's very clear the EA gave 0 fukks about FIFA on this gen and are most likely prepping for X1 and PS4. Scoundrels.

Yeah, the goal keepers let corners or crosses go in far too easy, even if you have Courtois, Cech, Marchetti, or Handanovic. All these guys have great reflexes, diving, and attention to position plus height.
The pace abusers have a huge advantage this year, the biggest yet. You build any kind of attack, if you lose the ball they just boot it up field and off sides does not matter. 95% of the time they will be one on one with your goal keeper.
Next gen will be the same old nonsense, and the attackers keep getting neutered because you have 84 or 86 rated forwards who are not smart enough to avoid traffic or get in a good position to receive the pass.
The game is real frustrating, and all these tweaks are getting old, I have no confidence in EA anymore.

Have u played the demo? Yes the interface is trash and hurts my eyes and yes they don't have fully licensed team but the gameplay if
Besides u can download patches that people make that look professional that bring full license and team shirts and everything
I still didn't buy PES cuz I'm too used to buying fifa but honestly I'm dissapointing in fifa this year...
