As far as standing tackling being nullified, I noticed I don't even hit the tackle button any more.
I think when they introduced the tactical defending system last year, you had to time your tackles.
This year you don't even have to press the tackle button.
Now, the AI pretty much shoulder bumps you and you end up on the ground. If you even touch an opposing player you lose momentum and most likely the ball too.
They pretty much made the collision system a shell of its former self, center of gravity no longer determines the advantage. All the advantage goes to the defender, feels like last gen FIFA 06 on PS2.

That's probably my biggest gripe with the game. I'm one hell of a passer and can build up attacks like clockwork
...but it's been neutralized to a great extent because of the defending in the game. When I do pull off a beautiful build up, it's usually in tight space and I'm unable to get off a shot even though I have 2-3 yards of space sometimes. Between the wind-up to shoot animation (entirely to long, even when I tap the shoot button) and the collision system sucking defenders into me and it being so easy for them to knock me off the ball, goals have been quite difficult to come by.
Don't even get me started on when I am actually able to get a shot off. I've been hitting the post more times than ever before. I don't know if you guys remember when Aguero used to play for Atletico Madrid in FIFA 11 or 12 but his player was coded wrong or something. He'd hit the post more often than not, considerably more than any other player in the game. I feel like every player in FIFA 14 is like that right now.

This was money when they had an effective collision system.
Imagine all the time they spent perfecting the collision system and now they threw it out the window.
Nainggolan runs to support Marchiso, and bounces off the attacker 5 yards the other way just because he is coming from behind.
I haven't seen this since FIFA '08.
Just running with a CAM and have feed the ball to my forwards.

Crosses are successful 95% of the time because the goalie just stands there.
Pace abusers and guys who run up the wings for a cross are damn near golden.
I'll see how the game is next gen, but as of yet the game is unplayable.

played this round a friends house. damn that ultimate team mode is addicting.
I have 1.5 million coins.
Barclays players was selling for crazy amounts, it could be 79 rated LB and I still got 8 or 9k. Got Toure (CM) 3 times and sold him for 120k each, got David Luiz (CB) 4 or 5 times sold him for 30k each. At one point, every other pack was giving me Willian (LW), he was going for 70k. The packs are lovely first couple weeks.
Also, got Neymar, Robben, and a few TOTW players. Someone bought my TOTW Lukaku for 210k, he goes for 60k now.
I hope next gen the game plays better and the goalies are better. I'm done this gen, all the cheesers and pace abusers makes the game no fun.
I got this game before release, the demo was alright the little I played of it and expected retail to be significantly better keeping the standard of previous versions from 10 forward.
I couldn't play it until they added back the dynamic camera, why take that out.
It made little difference though.
The players don't feel unique, the dribbling system is ass and each individual regardless of his strength and weakness moves akwardly, it plays like you're in quick sand, players changing direction slow as a tank.
It's the worst in the series, I've gone back to 13.
Hope this is a ploy to get people to buy the next gen versions.

My dude had no money. We were making a team with like 8k.
My Serie A team is about 20k,
Forwards: Palacio, Giovinco, Vucinic, cost about 3.5k
Midfield: Nainggolan, Nocerino, Moralez, cost about 5k
Defenders: Benatia. Barzagli, Criscito, Konko, cost about 10k
GK: Handanovic, cost about 3k
If you want cheap players Serie A and Bundsliga is the way to go.
I can transfer my coins for next gen, so that's the only reason I haven't deleted my squad, but I couldn't play this anymore. FIFA 13 did a good job separating the amateurs.
This game cheesers are getting 3 goals off crosses because they blow pass a slow to respond defender.
The cross is on the money even if the player is off balance are those a quick cut back.

This is intentional, so you can't stop and go, my player would stand there and not move. This is not realistic.
Goalies don't react to the ball most of the time, especially if its a header. Ball goes in the net, and the goalie doesn't even turn his head and his body remains still.
I can take all the flaws of the game, but the collision system is a joke. When a player bounces off a player, he is bumped a few yards away from the attacker.

The new online patch has the game playing like FIFA 13 again except its still rather easy to steal the ball away from opposing players.
