@MeachTheMonster @The Mad Titan :ohhh:

Metal Gear Solid was in the top 10, higher than Resident Evil 2 for best selling PS1 games of all time. Last sales we got from MGSV which released on everything was 5 million copies sold.

I guess that means MGS should go back to being exclusive right? Konami lawst

I said it's speculation because nobody knows the sales numbers/dev costs to say if something was a success/flop.
As for SE making those games multiplat, umm idk if you understand but FFVII Remake didn't become multiplat because of some failure. It was always a timed exclusive, it came out on PC a year later.

It wouldn't have made sense to release on Nintendo Switch with how weak it is and now that the Switch 2 is out it makes sense to release it there. You making it seem like it coming to Xbox will magically boost their numbers, JRPGs are not very popular on Xbox.

No, it sold 7 million since 2023, not 2024 and nobody knows what else it sold in total hence everything being said in this thread is kind of moot. Idk what number are you even comparing it to saying that it should be much better in comparison.

You're doing the same thing that you just refuse to see or you're just being intellectually dishonest. How are you comparing the sales of something as of 2025, for 6 years to unknown sales data for FF? FFVII Remake's last sales update was 7 million as of September 2023, 3 years after release. RE2 remake's sales numbers was as of Feburary 2025, six years later.

How can you compare 3 years worth of sales to six? Do you have data that we aren't aware of? They're also two different genre's.

You don't know the sales of FFVII Remake past September 2023. The comparison is stupid. Of course you can point to RE2 Remake's sales, it's published.

Why didn't you use Tekken or Tony Hawk in your comparison? Tekken is out on everyone's system of choice, was in the top 10 best selling games ever for PS1, even higher than Resident Evil. Why didn't that sell as much as say a game like Horizon Zero Dawn? You're comparing random genre's to each other with different variables. It's like saying why aren't people in the south buying winter coats compared to people in Boston.
My breh. What the hell are you even doing at this point.

Square don’t even agree with you.

Put the sony cult Koolaide down for a minute

You look crazy right now breh.

Even sony bringing their games to xbox.

The economics of “exclusives” just don’t make sense anymore. And that’s for platform holders. 3rd parties like square would be crazy not to push for simultaneous multiplatform releases.

Square enix: “We fukked up, we need to release these games on all platforms day one to make them financially successful, we are changing our entire strategy to meet the current industry reality”

Sony cult members: “Exclusives, exclusives, game sold just fine hope they fukk up the sales of the next one so i can stan it”

nikkas crazy:mjlol:
At this point PC gamers are just like, I'll just wait. Unlike with Nintendo, you know that eventually everything that is Sony exclusive will come to PC. For SE, there are probably a good amount of people that would buy it on day 1 if it came on PC on day 1, but if it releases later, they would most likely back-shelf it in their backlog. The biggest thing is that the hype going into Rebirth felt a lot less than it was for Remake. The sales showcase this.

Also, as underpowered as the Switch 2 may be compared to current consoles, it has a giant install base since people with a Switch 1 will get a Switch 2. Square Enix would be dumb not to take advantage of it. Though I still doubt the final part will really be a same day release because porting it from PS5 to Switch 2 will be a struggle, imo.

Unless you are Nintendo these days, exclusivity is fighting a losing battle.

There’s too many games coming out. And too many games people won’t stop playing. Nobody starving for content.

People will play stuff if/when the price/platform makes sense for them.

Even Nintendo is branching out into releasing their IP on mobile.

Locking down content to one platform just doesn’t make sense anymore.

All of those gacha and mobile games are so huge in Japan. That's basically Nintendo's real competitor, and not PC & PS5.

Fire Emblem Heroes still being supported is a surprise, but it is by far their best mobile release. Wouldn't surprise me if they put a Xenoblade version of that eventually on mobile.

This isn't necessarily true, you're assuming the install base is on PC in the first place waiting. Stellar Blade didn't come out day 1 on PC, yet it sold well after it launched a year later.

Look at Ghosts of Tsushima, that sold 800K on Steam alone within the first month or so and that released several years later. This "If it don't come out on PC day 1 it will not sell there." narrative is just not really true.

Same with Rebirth, that had some good sales apparently on Steam even though it didn't come out day 1. The issue at large here is people assuming Remake did bad. There's zero evidence that Remake did bad, especially with SE dropping a banner image highlighting 7 million sales after 3 years.

That's why I used the MGS V example, that game sold 5 million as of 2015 but we haven't heard anything since. Would that mean the game flopped and only sold 5 million since release?

Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox is like Destiny or Marathon coming to Xbox. They're GAAS games. Until flagship IPs from Sony 1st party studios are announced for Xbox, this is just more nonsense said by you as usual :mjlol:

I will delete my Coli account if Uncharted, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, TLOU, Spider-Man, Ghosts of Tsushima or their other first party studio games gets announced for Xbox. Tokon doesn't count because that's made by Arc Sys.

If one of the first party studio single-player, narrative focus or even evolving/multi-genre studios makes a game and it's announced for Microsoft Xbox either this gen or next gen, just @ me and I will promptly delete my account and leave you guys free to say whatever you want. The live service ones aren't really the same, they're just online games.

The forum will be free of any Sony stans, you Xbox fans can spread Xbox conspiracy theories all day :blessed:

All that Sony first party shyt is gonna be playable on the Xbox handheld coming out very soon.

The next fanboy pivot is gonna be "at least its not on the Microsoft store".

Native Xbox games aren't naturally playable on that handheld. It's basically a PC.
