Yeah they might be hurting themselves something serious with this move.

RE3 and cyberpunk are going be move units. And while FF7 is hype and wanted....it's still a remake of an RPG.

In the states people are probably gonna pick up RE3 and cyberpunk over FF7....

RE3 on the 3rd
Ff7 on the 10th
CP on the 16th

Eh....

The year 3030
a month delay isn't actually as bad as I thought it'd be...thought they'd pull some KH3 bullshyt and wait another year...now if it gets closer to april and we get another message, then I'll be a little more cynical

Final Fantasy 15 started development in 2006 and went through so many delays that it didn't come out until 2016.
They've already been working on this remake since 2015.

Final Fantasy 15 started development in 2012. The game you're talking about from 2006 was a different game for a different system and even though 15 used characters and story elements from it that wasn't part of 15's development.

Delay your game into the same month as the game of the generation brehs. Square in 2020
This is a remake of the game of the generation from 1997. I think they're banking on nostalgic 30 years olds being able to afford buying both, or choosing this over cyberpunk. Which for me, is certainly the case, because i'm not that into 1st person shooters.

That was the same game, they just took so long they ended up changing the name to make it seem like it didn't take as long. But it was the same characters and story.

Breh u capping hard :laff:

Sales of FFVII(PSX version) is way higher than RE3.

FFVII
According to Weekly Famitsu, Final Fantasy VII sold 3.27 million units in Japan by the end of 1997.[151] By the end of 2005, the PlayStation version had sold 9.8 million copies including 4 million sales in Japan,[152] making it the highest-selling game in the Final Fantasy series.[153] By the end of 2006, The Best, the bargain reissue of the game, had sold over 158,000 copies in Japan.[154] By May 2010, it had sold over 10 million copies worldwide,[155] making it the most popular title in the series in terms of units sold.[156][157][158

RE3
As of May 2008, a total of 3.5 million copies of the PlayStation version had been sold according to Capcom.[29]

Myself personally, I'm playing FF7 day 1. I'm not playing RE3 at all, was never a fan of that series. CP i'm taking a wait and see approach, but i'm not a fan of the mechanics but i like the studio.

I'm glad it got delayed. People might complain now, but it's only ever in hindsight that people call a game rushed. The internet bytched and moaned about FFXV's delay by two months, and look what happened. People say Kingdom Hearts 3 is rushed (I don't personally, it's my personal favourite of 2019 BUT that's besides the point), but complained when I think the date got moved to early 2019.

Square Enix knows that this is game they absolutely CANNOT afford to mess up, because if they do, their reputation is tarnished forever. Too much is riding on this, and considering how they've also had to deal with the criticism of shipping out games earlier than they should be releasing... It takes a lot of balls for the company to come out and say "Know what... We're gonna need more time. :francis: Don't worry though, it'll be worth it."

I'm not sure if the data-mining may have also played a factor, but I like the fact that game developers are coming out more now and being honest with the consumers about game delays. Most people are understanding that sometimes things happen, and you need a bit more time to deliver on something great. April might be brutal on the wallets (start pre-ordering now brehs if you haven't), but I'm optimistic that it'll be a great period for gaming. It'd be nice if we got the demo as something to hold us over, but now that it's coming a month later... Hm.

I feel bad to those who booked off March just to play the Remake though... :francis: But I feel like Spring-Summer time is always a great time to kick back and play games, so no great loss. If anything, just more time to save that money for what's coming next.

Why are you giving me data from over a decade ago?

Resident Evil is bigger than it has ever been especially here in the states and continues to grow. It's stayed at the forefront and has created a lane, and that's why I said it re3 and cyberpunk might hurt the sales here in the states.

The genres couldn't be more different and RE3 comes out like a week ahead of it.

In Japan I expect them to lean towards ff7 re3 then cyberpunk.

In the states, i expect it to be cyberpunk, and a toss up between ff7 and RE3 initially.
