Other than SNL, none of that is promotion. Since when is it considered promotion to put a red tape on an album cover or to have songs named New Slaves ?:comeon:

F&L2 had radio singles, Yeezus didn't :ld:

You're not tired of the lies yet friend? Do you know what promotion is? It's not just putting a song on the radio and releasing a music video anymore. The internet age is the present. Track listings and album covers being revealed before release is promotion - especially in Yeezus's case due to the nature of the cover, song titles, and album name. Debuting your new songs on the sides of dozens of buildings is promotion. Naming your album Yeezus is promotion in itself.

And what radio singles did F&L II have?

Singles and radio singles are not the same thing. Lupe was rapping about how fukked up and shytty America is on the first single(Around My Way) and the power of the word bytch on his second(bytch Bad). The third touched on pedophilia and racist exorcists. None of these songs were getting radio play, and outside of one 106 & Park performance, no one was inviting Lupe to perform any of these songs. Stop it.

You're mixing F&L II up with Lasers. Lasers had a ton of big singles, had lots of promotion, and it was was surrounded by controversy. It debuted at #1 and has since gone gold.

It really isn't. When's the last time a major artist had zero radio play, no TV appearances, no face time with fans on a new release?

One performance and some projections counts as major promo now. OK. :patrice:

People don't realize that Kanye hasn't had true radio hits since Golddigger and Stronger... MBDTF didn't sell that well either. He's a gold artist now as far as record sales go, but hits tours and festivals will always be big.

So If I announce on twitter that I will release an album called Satan and have songs called I Am Lucifer and put a black tape on the cover, that's promo enough to get me 315k albums sales? :ld:

Around my Way peak at 76
bytch Bad peaked at 62 on the rap billboard charts
Battle Scars peaked at 71 and was used on the trailer for some movie.

Lupe had radio singles, Yeezus didn't :lupe:
