First off the out of wedlock rate is not truly indicative of whether a kid grows up in a single parent household.

Second the out of wedlock rate is not indicative of the strides black people have made about the issue.

Irresponsible teen/unmarried pregnancies are down exponentially compared to the past.The difference now is that married pregnancies are down even more so it makes the "out of wedlock" rate look worse than it is.

White irresponsible pregnancies are on the rise. If its anyone who gets the idea of family and responsible parenting in 2014 its black folks

But the media, bill Cosby, and these misrepresented statistics fight to plant a different picture.

In reality regardless of race or situation. You take ten people, a couple will go above and beyond, a couple will totally fail, and the majority will fall in the middle somewhere. You take that same ten people and place a systemic constant burden on their shoulders, then only the extraordinary will make it. It's not a conducive strategy to say black people should ignore everything else and just be extrodinary. It just doesn't work like that.

And the marriage rates for us as a whole have dropped more than any other group.
