:whoa: what, why?

I have a consolidation with Sallie Mae pending right now:to:

Its through the William J Ford, they asked me to choose a servicer and I chose Sallie randomly.

i think the best option would just be doing a direct loan consolidation with the government, you know you'll always have that payment % staying what you signed for, and if you make a little more money it's not going to sky rocket like it's doing with dude. Once you sign with a lender like sallie mae then you're on their terms.

I know this is extreme, but join the peace corps if everything else fails. They will pay 100% of your outstanding loan if it's it's a Federal Loan. Just contact the lender and ask them if your debt falls under the PSLF plan. If they say yes (on paper, don't take their word for it), then you can join a 1 year program and totally wipe out your debt. Also, the peace corps is an excellent reference when you apply for positions in the future.

It's not pretty, but a year of hard-work can cancel a lifetime of debt.

This that hustle season breh :wow:, it's time for u to get your grind on. Watch the Pursuit of Happyness again. Go back to your grandma'a crib. Get a 2nd job & continue to work on your PhD.

My breh, it's been a tough time for you & Sallie Mae is a cold-blooded bytch, but you can either feel sorry for yourself or work 3x as hard.

You gotta be extra frugal with your guwop too now, get on your Mr Krabs steeze breh.

I'll leave u with this song :blessed:

So I looked into that peace corp deal:

Receive deferments for Stafford, Perkins and Consolidation loans, plus partial forgiveness of Perkins loans; 15% per year of service up to 70% of your loan total.

http://www.ecmc.org/details/loanForgiveness.html#volunteer

I dunno if it's worth it. I gotta be in for like 5 years to get that 70% of my consolidated loan and I'd still owe 40K. Plus, it's be in my mid-30s when all is said and done.

I dunno what to do :to:

I guess it really is moving back in with my grandma, working 2 jobs, and perhaps forgoing the phd :to:
