Because it's NOT true. Like it couldn't be more further from the truth. Draymond receives less help than any other defender in the league, by a considerable margin, hence why he can guard any position at a high level.

They're not, but that doesn't mean Kawhi doesn't receive more help. Kawhi isn't asked (or capable) to fulfill the same amount of roles on defense that Draymond is, therefore it's impossible for Draymond to receive the same amount of help as Kawhi does. I think there seems to be some misunderstanding on your part on what Draymond does on the defensive end.

Bruh...there isn't ANY misunderstanding. I understand his role and impact and like I said, i'm NOT trying to minimize that.

Rim Protection - Nylon Calculus

Ezeli AND Bogut are rated higher than TD when it comes to rim protector furthering my point that Green does get help. Not that i'm using it as a negative, but we clearly are NOT about to gloss over this bruh......

I think you are, you're saying that Draymond receives as much help on defense as Kawhi does. That isn't true by any reasonable scale..

First of all, just because they hold opponents to a lower shooting percentage at the rim, doesn't mean they're helping Draymond. Most of those shots they defend at the rim are either guards/wing driving into the paint or from guarding their own man - not from helping Draymond on his man (Draymond has less help than every other single player in the league when defending shots). And just because they hold opponents to a lower shooting percentage at the rim doesn't mean they're more important to their team's defense, than Duncan is. Ezeli spent most of his time defending shots at the rim against second units, so you can't really compare his DFG% to Duncan's as if they're defending the same talent of players.

Draymond defended 1,318 shots this season (which granted is only ONE part of defensive play), more than any other player by a considerable margin - Kawhi only defended 676 shots this season - before we even get into all the different shots Draymond defends and all the HELP defense he provides when anchoring the paint/defending the PNR, it's quite clear that Kawhi receives more help on defense than he does.

Duncan has a better DRTG and DRPM than Bogut and Ezeli do, meaning he has a larger influence (in a general sense) on his team's defensive impact than they do.

Nobodies perfect, and when you got to guard the best players on the planet day in and day out, you get touched up occasionally. Is Draymond better than Leonard, I dont have all the stats and shyt to argue it, but I will say nikkas in here hating on Green just because they don't like the dude, sound like fuccking clowns. I'd say being on a team that Won 73 games, and can guard almost any one from 1-5, deserves more respect than what he's gotten.

No doubt. I've said it on plenty occasions, had Green won DPOY this year or/and last year I would not have had an issue w/it as he's as much deserving of the award as Kawhi. I don't like em cause he doesn't play for the Spurs lol but I respect him as a player for what he brings to the table. People 3get homie is a 2nd round undersized PF

They're both elite as hell. Anyone who doesn't recognize that doesn't understand basketball. They absolutely deserved to be 1-2 in DPOY voting this year.

I like Kawhi better. But I wouldn't have been pissed if they each had won one DPOY the last two years. Unless Draymond falls off, they need to give him his sooner or later.

Only thing I could see is if the Jazz surge, Gobert could win it. I've watched a few Jazz games and he completely shuts down the paint when he's playing, it's pretty incredible
