And during that period boxing was way bigger than basketball globally. Even more so when just talking about the NBA.

Its coverage was much higher than Basketball last year. Indeed, the coverage of football events was 42% higher compared to Basketball events.

I haven't found anything online saying basketball is China's biggest sport
