Nobody will ever be what Jordan was at his peak. He was everywhere. Kinda on Michael Jackson status.

Especially since serious boxing fans know that Tyson was a fraud who whipped up the chumps but fell short when it was time to dig deep against fighters who weren’t scared of him.

He was bigger than Mike. Did u see what happened in Barcelona? He literally made a nation (China) love basketball. U think South Americans was balling like that? It was Jordan. He is why basketball is global.
Bullshyt.. Tyson was bigger than Jordan and basketball in the united states and esp world wide. Im old enough to remember them both at their respective peaks and Tyson was only 2nd to Ali in terms of popularity. It was a point in time Tyson had 5 out of the 10 most watched pay per views.. nobody since has come close to Tysons popularity.

Most serious boxing fans dont know shyt.. they just repeat what other clueless boxing fans say.. how can someone who unified the titles and cleaned out the top 10 within 3yrs of his debut be a fraud?

:dahell: basketball is the most popular contact sport in China, the worlds most populated country. RAnked #4 overall.

Martial arts is ranked #10 in popularity in China

Basketball is ranked #5 in the world in popularity

Boxing doesnt make the top 10

The hell you going on about :dahell:

To you Americans Jordan is the biggest but this question is about worldwide and its very telling how us the Non-Americans have all said Tyson. Kinda redundant asking Americans to speak for the rest of the world on this issue. Also i think if you put both in any street worldwide, people would still gravitate more to Tyson in 2018, theres just something charismatic about being the hardest, baddest person alive that draws people, MJ dunking basketballs just doesnt have the same feel and appeal.

I think Tyson was more popular prior to losing to Douglas (1990). Jordan was up there too, but in the 90s, specifically after he won his first ring and they formed the Dream Team, Jordan’s popularity went to a whole new level.

I was a baby in the late 80s and Jordan reached “God Mode” in the 90s so if anything their runs at the top were seperate eras.

The 80s will still Magic and Bird running things. Jordan didnt win his first ring until 91.

:gucci: You using a video game to prove your point?

Since we doing promotion related shyt with the persons likeness on it, what about Jordan’s shoes?

Nothing Tyson did can compare to that, that video game don’t even come close. I remember when Jordan’s used to come out on Wednesday’s, if it was a hot release that shyt was like a hornorary cut day basically. Half the school wouldn’t even be there until after lunch. Teachers would even joke about it. Even folks who wasn’t getting the shoes would be like “fukk it I ain’t going to class cuz ain’t nobody else gonna be there”

I remember when the patent leather 11’s dropped in 95 (?), same joints that’s coming back out Saturday, my whole hood copped. Talking bout little kids on up to grown ass nikkas with grandkids. Between that Wed when they dropped and that weekend coming up, we probably hit up every mall in the city at least 40 deep, just loitering basically. And we wasn’t the only ones, you might another groups of dudes from another hood strolling thru bout 25 plus strong, all with the J’s on. Mike Tyson a great one, but nothing he every did compares to that type of pop culture foot print. nikka Ima be on my death bed remembering that one.
