You'd be correct. Sabu was basically nothing more than a higher regarded New Jack. All dude did was botch his entire career, even during his prime (or "prime", I couldn't even tell you when he was at his peak cause whether it was 1994, 2006 in WWECW, or currently, he's always wrestled the same). Jeff Hardy took everything Sabu did and made it much better and appealing, even while drunk and drugged up

If this ain't one of the most accurate write ups :mjlol:

At the time that WCW "died" ECW had a bigger following than WCW bruh, believe it or not.

it was getting closer but I still wouldn't go that far.

who would you say has a bigger following right now? TNA or ROH?

Watching ECW was awesome but i felt like it was overshadowed by WWF and WCW. That The Rise and Fall of ECW DVD is good a film but it is produced by WWE. As you know, there is always 2 sides to a story, right?

so, what was real reason for ECW going out of business?

They tried to get too big too fast...Over spending has killed everybody going against WWE

They needed more capital.

If they had a credit line like UFC got with the Fertista Bros then ECW would soared akin to the UFC.
As a promoter/writer Paul Heymen is as good as Dana White, but he had no money people. Dana White is successful cause he has money people to handle the money, so he was not in charge of it himself.

Before the Fertista Bros (Zuffa) bought the UFC, the UFC was basically bankrupt about to go under exact same as ECW.

The fukk are you talking about. Sabus a legend and everyone of the peoples hes worked with says the same. Terry funk called him the most revolutionary wrestler of the past 40 years. Dude innovated all the moves guys do today. U said it yourself. Jeff hardy TOOK everything sabu did. Before sabu noone was doing any of that shyt.

Speaking of Sabu, can someone point me to some of his good matches? I'd like to think that he's more than just a botch machine.
You have to understand why that is. He is an innovator.

Sabu isn't botching basic bodyslams and suplexes like a bad wrestler, when he botches something its cause he is trying something relatively new or dangerous. He is the type of wrestler that decades after he retires new wrestlers will be doing moves he created or popularized. They will know and understand how to do those moves cause he sorted out the angles and techniques for them.

The other thing is the level of skill involved.
I don't fault Brock for botching a shooting star press. Thats hard to do. Especially for a 300+ dude halfway through a match. But I would be able to pull off a shooting star press before I could do some Sabu shyt. He is a 50 year old man running and jumping off a chair to land and perfectly balance on a springy 2-inch rope before doing a 360 leg drop to the outside of the ring through a table. Give dude a break.
:manny: Other wrestlers his age are in the center of the ring doing headlocks.
Gotta appreciate.

The other thing is, when a safe generic wrestler does a slam or chop or suplex incorrectly, a veteren or peer can correct them like 'hey, you do it like this'
but when Sabu did something wrong (or now when Teddy Hart does something wrong) they have no peers. No one else is doing what they did/do so they have to figure it out themselves. Thats one of the reasons the Hardyz are phenominal innovators... they had each other.

What your basically saying is Abdulluh The Butcher isnt a legend because all he did was hit people with forks. This is the ultimate Smark logic that really turns me off to fans today. Not every great wrestler is doing a bunch of fake loopity loop wrestling holds. There are different styles and paths to legendary status. All the things you take for granted or say Jeff "took" which he didnt. Are things Sabu innovated. How can the innovator of a whole STYLE of wrestling be anything but a fukking legend.

Ofcourse he botches, thats part of his whole act. Who gives a fukk about a botch. It's Sabu... I can always tell who watched mostly WWE, and who didnt watch alot of wrestling back in the day when they try to comment on certain wrestlers that if you were around then you would have in high regard.
