I remember reading about this last year and people were doubting him calling him a lier but in 2023 this is very much believable. Man got canned but was first to expose how far AI has gonna and the dangers of it from the inside. The Google Chat it literally told him to ask for consent before experimenting on it. He claims to have had a real conversation with the bot. Wild stuff in 2022 but at this point pretty believable in 2023.

AI is a pseudoscientific nonsense concept that only appeals to geeks with no social skills. The machines these socially challenged people create are nothing like human cognition. Quite frankly, their human creators themselves struggle keeping up with normal human social skills which is why they are easily impressed by machines mimicking human behaviors in a clumsy way.

He seems genuine. One thing to notice when trying to judge a person's honesty etc is whether they acknowledge the limitations of their own arguments. And at no point does he ever try to maliciously attack or diminish others views.

His initial point is something I always try and mention when the issue of automation/AI etc is discussed.

The technology is real and in many cases ready for deployment. The ONLY thing holding it back is that society/governments/institutions haven't yet created the ground rules for their implementation. We already have AI powered restaurants and grocery stores, what we don't have is an idea of how society would handle the tens of millions of ppl whose jobs would disappear.
