Came in expecting op to say they found out they're part cac
happened to me . Grandad on my mother's side of the family. Thought he was full Native American.
I was wrong. I was never in the family history like that and should have been.
got a letter in the mail a few years back for a family reunion . i was like cool we'll go . opened the letter and the reunion was to be held at the abominable1 family plantation in South Carolina ,
i was like
, they done sent this shyt to the wrong people .
my wife was like
, better go ask your mother .
drive over to Mom's and she was like yeah
, that' s your grandad's people
and damn if she ain't got the same invitation letter sitting on her table.
great grandad was a straight cac who married went to NC and married a native
bought her back to SC and the old man was like , hol' up playa - might as well as bought a nikka back here and sent him back to NC.
Over the next century , the family in NC turned black
and apparently so di the ones in SC did too
went to the reunion , black cousins live on the property , a few hundred acres
the natives family from SC come down and straight shytted on the YT family.
accused them of stealing the land from another set of SC indians and putting the plantation up with stolen money as well
but it turned out okay , no fights, family still talking.
anyways
not tot takeaway from OP POST ,that is awesome. Beautiful family
