So with PG13 and Westbrook
Teague, Wiggins, Jimmy, KAT
Holiday, Cousins, Davis with a full training camp now
and Spurs looking to field another competitve team.

That's going to be a tough road just to get to the WCFs to face the Warriors.

Most of them, including us, are probably just scrambling to get/unearth any of the remaining impact players that could give that edge needed

melo is the only hope. the only things the rockets have going for them over the cavs to get him are 1, they already have love, bron plays 3, where does leave melo? is he the sixth man ? 2, he probably does not want to feel like hes riding the coat tails of lebron. going to houston, and having a bigger role is better for his legacy.

with the cavs it would guarantee he gets to the finals, but im not sure he would want that in such a reduced role.

i hope the knick will stop bullshyttin and just buy him out

True. If Melo is bought out he'll join one of his super friends and that'll either be Bron or CP3. Hopefully us, because if we must see this Dantoni system to the bitter end, I'd rather we go all in and see just how ignorant we can be offensively with the spacing and shot making, plus the added depth if Ariza can join Gordon off the bench.. or if we put Carmelo at 4, for stretches, particularly when Ryan Anderson is being trash.

We as Rocket fans gotta stop with this negative tone towards our team. Everybody else already does it. Positive vibes only bro. Think about it Eric Gordon known for being injured throughout his career stayed relatively healthy this past year. Hell even I thought the D'Antoni hire was crazy but he helps improve the team by 14 wins and wins COY.

We have 2 superstars and are filling out the rest of the roster. Capela I believe is gonna get better. The front office seems to understand that 3's and lay ups with no defense might not be the exact way to go about winning. The PJ Tucker signing and CP3 coming in who are known for their defense and mid range game respectively are examples of that.

The front office and owner are all about winning and improving the team. They don't always sign who they want but you can't control what someone else does. They make great trades tho. Last season ended the worst way it could but I'm excited about this upcoming season and am only thinking good thoughts.

I don't even address the trolls from other fan bases, bc they're clearly not here for anything constructive. With that said, Dantoni and Harden in particular brought any negativity/skepticism by Houston fans upon them selves with how they went out in games 5 n 6. But it's also why I'm glad for the CP3 acquisition bc he's a better ball handler and imposes a mid range component to the team. Even them going after Milsap (realistic or not) was a great sign.

So i can only be pragmatic about the good and bad; i wouldn't get too high or too low, but i also like our chances against any of the West teams outside of GSW. I'm probably never going to advocate for Pringles but if he gets this offense clicking like it was last year but with the added benefit of CP3 being our closer... then I feel we're WCFs bound. Which will be a credit to Pringles for making it work.

We need at least one more star player to really give the Warriors a problem. Millsap or Carmelo hopefully. We got PJ Tucker our own defensive stopper. That Anderson contract tho :patrice:....... there has to be some sucker GM out there.

The H
Morey was on Bill Simmons today and pretty much said don't expect anything else this offseason. He plans to save the BAE and the trade exception for later in the year.

So we rolling into the season something like

Starters
CP3
Harden
Ariza
Anderson
Capela

Main bench guys
Gordon
Nene
Tucker

Deep bench guys
Zhou Qi
Vet min

I like this team and it will help us close games out better, but I don't see a huge increase in regular season wins. I think this CP3 move was made strictly for the post season when our offense stagnates when defenses lock in on Harden's PnR.

What I am hopeful for is Capela taking another step. If he can just become a better rebounder that will be huge. If he can get more creative with his finishes as well then he could be a top tier center.

Defense still gonna be soft this season with Anderson at the 4. Stupid media sold me on another star coming to Houston so when I realized that was a pipe dream shyt stung for a bit. fukk it. Im good now. I can't wait for the season to start

We need one more scoring option off the bench. I hope this isn't it. We haven't replace Lou off the bench. That bench bothers me. I dont trust Nenes health. At least sign barbosa

I know D'Antoni probably gonna stagger Harden and CP3's minutes where one is on the court at all times but do ya'll think we still need a back up point guard on the deep bench part of the roster?

Definitely need someone who can get easy buckets, preferably driving or in the paint. I liked Lou but I wasn't enamored by him bc he was a tough shot taker/maker, which didn't always help when we had our dryspells from 3 and needed a quality possession. CP3 helps shift a lot of that but it'd go a long way if we had 3rd scorer that could give defenses a different look. Take some of the pressure away from CP3 and Harden to gift wrap buckets to all our spot up shooters when one of them is on the bench.

Report: Hardaway Jr. signing could prompt Melo trade to Rockets
Andrew Joe Potter Jul 8, 2017 2:29 PM
The New York Knicks appear to have 71 million more reasons to move on from Carmelo Anthony sooner rather than later.

The Atlanta Hawks aren't expected to match New York's four-year, $71-million offer sheet for wing Tim Hardaway Jr., and the pending big-money acquisition has reportedly prompted "a renewed willingness" to explore a trade that would send Anthony to the Houston Rockets, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Led by MVP runner-up James Harden, the Rockets are expected to make a significant push for the veteran scorer. Anthony has expressed interest in waiving his no-trade clause to facilitate a move to Houston.

Chris Paul, a member of the infamous "Banana Boat" foursome with Anthony, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade, is also friendly with Melo from their national team days, and as ambassadors for Jordan Brand. Before Paul was traded from the Clippers to the Rockets, Los Angeles was considered a dark horse to acquire Anthony.

The Rockets have been vocal about their desire to add a third All-Star-caliber player to the mix, so it makes sense that Anthony would be high on their list. In any case, his time in the Big Apple seems to be coming to an end.
