Freddie Gibbs says he can rap better than MF Doom. Coli, we agree or nah?

Who the better rapper: Doom or Gibbs?

OK, I know I'm in an alternate reality now.

:hubie:

Supposed fans of hip-hop artistry, indelible lyricism, and creativity at it's finest are shytting on Muthafukkin Metal Face DOOM.

There are maybe 3 or 4 MCs period who could arguably get away with making such a claim as they're iller with the lyrics than Dumille.

I'll save you the suspense, Gibbs ain't one of them.

The fact that alot of the responses in this thread aren't even troll posts has got me straight :dwillhuh:

I get why Gibbs said this. He caught recent Doom slipping on 'Death Wish'

As much as I rate Freddie and respect the spirt of competition. I've got to rock with Doom, though.

There's a reason that someone as accomplished and skilled as Mos Def was :mindblown:about Madvillainy and openly stanned him to the point he was doing covers and wearing masks too.

I'm gonna need Kane to keep this same energy if we get that potential Pusha x Madlib album after man left him for dead on 'Palmolive' though:mjpls:

It's less crazy once you realize how badly the Booth is impressionable.

If Doom was the one with a new project (Madlib or otherwise), they'd be on his dikk :manny:

It is. It's the main reason why I don't take reactions in album threads too seriously. I've been listening to Bandana for the past few days heavy and it's dope but I don't think it's as great as posters in that thread are making it out to be. If you were to go into that thread you'd think it was the greatest rap album ever made. Dudes in there already calling it a classic. I don't think it's even better than Pinata.
I been reading that thread and had to keep from posting in it. Based on that thread you’d think Gibbs is one of the goats. Bandana is dope but I don’t think it’s as good as Piñata. I don’t even think Piñata is his best project.

Any time somebody says that they like an album more becuz it sounds more cohesive you know they reaching

90% of this thread is talking about other shyt.
Great topic if it were to stay on the rapping ability and prowess of both artist.

Freddie flow and content is dope but can get cliche a bit. Word play and lyricism are great though.

Mf doom is more witty, funnier with the wordplay. Better song writer conceptually.

Id take freddie over doom for the simple fact of relatability. Mf doom can go over my head sometimes with the references.

B'more, it happens now more frequently than before. Watch any album thread that gets stickied. It'll be like a race in there for who gonna be the first one to call it a classic and dikkride it til the wheels come off. Bandana is dope but it's not as great as dudes in that thread are trying to say it is. I prefer Pinata also. I don't even think it's the best album that's stickied right now. That Westside Gunn album is better imo. I'm gonna get to that French and Max joint today.

i think if the ghost and doom album would have happen it would made doom more accessible to people who take him to abstract

the few tracks they did together doom was more on tempo to match ghost
